Rembrandt Frerichs
Rembrandt Frerichs (born 1977) is a jazz pianist and composer from the Netherlands. He leads a few ensembles: Rembrandt Frerichs Trio and Levantasy. In his playing he is being influenced by the American jazz tradition, as well by philosophy and Arabic music. Frerichs teaches jazz piano on the conservatory of Tilburg. Life Frerichs studied at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague and the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts. He completed his studies in The Hague with honors. At the age of 22 he made his debut at the North Sea Jazz Festival. Rembrandt plays in several of his own ensembles such as Rembrandt Frerich Trio, '' Chiaroscuro '' and (with and Yoram Lachish) 'Levantasy'. Hossein Alizadeh
Hossein Alizadeh ( fa, حسین علیزاده) is an Iranian musician, composer, radif-preserver, researcher, teacher, and tar, shurangiz and setar instrumentalist and improviser. He has performed with such musicians as Shahram Nazeri, Mohammad-Reza Shajarian, Alireza Eftekhari and Jivan Gasparyan, as well as with a number of orchestras and ensembles. Music career Alizadeh was born in 1951 in Tehran. His father was from Urmia and his mother from Arak. As a teenager he attended secondary school at a music conservatory until 1975. His music studies continued at the University of Tehran, where his focus was composition and performance. He began postgraduate studies at the Tehran University of Art. Kayhan Kalhor ( fa, کیهان کلهر, ku, کەیھان کەڵھوڕ, translit=Keyhan Kelhur, born 24 November 1964) is an Iranian-Kurdish kamancheh and setar player and vocalist composer and master of classical Iranian traditional music. Early life and education Kayhan Kalhor was born in Tehran to a Kurdish family. He began studying music at the age of seven. By the age of thirteen, he was playing in the National Orchestra of Radio and Television of Iran. Continuing his music studies under various teachers, he studied in the Iranian radif tradition and also travelled to study in the northern part of Khorasan province, where music traditions have Kurdish and Turkic influences as well as Persian. Tony Overwater
Tony Overwater (Rotterdam, 24 March 1965) is a Dutch jazz bassist (acoustic bass and violone) and composer of jazz and improvisational music. In 2002 he received the Boy Edgar Award, the most important jazz award in The Netherlands. Presently, Overwater is mainly active in a crossover of jazz, Arab and early music. Career Jazz Overwater studied at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague under John Clayton and had lessons from Dave Holland, Charlie Haden and others. In 1989 he started his first band, Scapes, and received an award from the ''Stichting Jazz in Nederland'' for being the most promising musician. Oud-Beijerland () is a town and former municipality in the western Netherlands, in the province of South Holland, now a part of the Hoeksche Waard municipality. With a population of 24,575 in 2020, it is the most populous town of the Hoeksche Waard island. The town is located adjacent to the confluence of the Oude Maas and Spui River.
