Reliance Cricket Stadium
Reliance Cricket Stadium is cricket stadium in Nagothane, Maharashtra. Previously, the stadium was known as Indian Petrochemicals Corporation Limited Ground. The ground owned by Reliance Industries. The stadium is one of the small-town venues in Maharashtra which has hosted two Ranji Trophy games in December, 2007 where host Maharashtra played against Delhi and Saurashtra. It has hosted one Ranji Trophy One Day in 1997/98 between Maharashtra and Baroda. Nagothane
Nagothana is a census town in Roha Taluka, in the Raigad district of the Indian state of Maharashtra. The Kanyakumari - Panvel National Highway # 66 (NH66) goes through this town. Geography Nagothana is located at . It has an average elevation of 12 metres (39 feet). This village is prettily situated in a hollow surrounded by wooded hills, on the right bank of the Amba river or Nagothana creek about twenty-four miles from its mouth. Between Nagothana and the mouth of the Amba, the creek varies from an eighth to three quarters of a mile in breadth. Above Dharamtar the bed is blocked with sand banks, and, within four miles of Nagothana, it is crossed by reefs of rock which can be passed only at full tide. The creek is so filled up with sand that it is not navigable even for country craft. Steamers cross daily from Mumbai to Dharamtar. The Cooch Behar Trophy is India's national four-day cricket tournament for under-19 players. It has been held annually since the 1945–46 season. It is run by the Board of Control for Cricket in India. History The trophy was donated by, and named after, the family of the Maharaja of Cooch Behar. From 1945–46 to 1986–87 the Cooch Behar Trophy was a schools competition. It changed to an under-19 competition in 1987–88. Current format Matches are played over four days. Cricket Grounds In Maharashtra
Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The batting side scores runs by striking the ball bowled at one of the wickets with the bat and then running between the wickets, while the bowling and fielding side tries to prevent this (by preventing the ball from leaving the field, and getting the ball to either wicket) and dismiss each batter (so they are "out").
