Love Parade
The Love Parade (german: Loveparade) was a popular electronic dance music festival and technoparade that originated in 1989 in West Berlin, Germany. It was held annually in Berlin from 1989 to 2003 and in 2006, then from 2007 to 2010 in the Ruhr region. Events scheduled for 2004 and 2005 in Berlin and for 2009 in Bochum were canceled. On 24 July 2010, a crowd crush at the Love Parade in Duisburg caused the deaths of 21 people, with at least 500 others injured. As a consequence, the organizer of the festival announced that no further Love Parades would be held and that the festival was permanently canceled. ''So80s presents Alphaville'' is a compilation album for the band Alphaville, released in October 2014. The release includes all of their original 12-inch 1980's maxi-singles and their respective B-sides, many for the first time on CD in their original form. Background This 2-CD collection includes all original 1980's 12" singles starting with " Big in Japan" (1984) through "Mysteries of Love" (1989). Also included are the original B-sides and select alternate mixes, including original instrumental and dub mixes. One original mix (Torsten Fenslau's remix of "Big in Japan") is also included. The tracks were remastered from the original master tapes, and initial copies were signed by the band. Johann "Hans" Hölzel (; 19 February 1957 – 6 February 1998), better known by his stage name Falco, was an Austrian singer and musician. Falco had several international hits including " Der Kommissar" (1981), "Rock Me Amadeus", "Vienna Calling", " Jeanny", " The Sound of Musik", " Coming Home (Jeanny Part II, One Year Later)", and posthumously " Out of the Dark". Kajagoogoo were a British new wave band, best known for their 1983 hit single "Too Shy", which reached No. 1 in the UK Singles Chart, and the Top 10 in numerous other countries. History Beginnings (1978–1982) Formed in Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire, in 1978, the band were originally known as Art Nouveau, a four-piece avant-garde group, with Nick Beggs on bass guitar, Steve Askew on lead guitar, Stuart Croxford Neale on keyboards, and Jez Strode on drums. Art Nouveau released a track called "The Fear Machine", which sold a few hundred copies and enjoyed airtime on John Peel's show. In spite of the song's success, the band failed to secure a record deal during this period. In 1981, Art Nouveau advertised for a new lead singer. They were released on CD and some in digital formats from 2009 to 2019 and included 24 albums. Background Frustrated with finding 80's 12" mixes on CD's Black and Jones set out on a mission to releases 80's 12' compilations of their favorite tunes. The series had 13 compilation volumes (1-13) of various artists, 2 more compilations of various artists, including ''So80s presents Formel Eins'', ''So80s Presents ZTT'' and 10 compilations dedicated to specific artists, including Kajagoogoo, Ultravox, Heaven 17, Billy Idol, Culture Club, Falco, Sandra,'''' Alphaville, Hubert Kah and OMD. ''Stay in Touch'' is the tenth studio album by German singer Sandra (singer), Sandra, released on 26 October 2012 by Virgin Records. Background The album was produced by a German DJ duo Blank & Jones and most of the songs were written or co-written by Jens Gad. The material incorporated 1980s style into songs, reproducing the sound pattern of Sandra's early albums, with the track "Kings & Queens" sampling her 1985 song "(I'll Never Be) Maria Magdalena". It was also the first album since 1988's ''Into a Secret Land'' to feature Hubert Kemmler as a songwriter and background vocalist. "Maybe Tonight" was released as the first single in May 2012 and charted at number 77 in Germany. Mark Reeder (born 5 January 1958) is a British musician and record producer. He grew up in Manchester, England. At a young age, Reeder became interested in progressive rock and especially early electronic music. In his teens, he worked in a small Virgin Records store in Manchester city centre. Reeder has been living and working in Berlin since 1978. He is the founder and owner of the German electronic dance music labels MFS and Flesh. In 1991, Reeder discovered the teenage Paul van Dyk, guiding and paving his way to build up his now international DJ superstardom. Bernard Sumner (born 4 January 1956) is an English singer, musician, songwriter, and record producer. He is a founding member of the bands Joy Division, New Order, and Electronic.
