George Mihalka
George Mihalka (born 1953) is a Hungarian-born Canadian filmmaker. He is known for his 1981 slasher film '' My Bloody Valentine'' which was remade in 2009. Career In Canada since 1963, George Mihalka studied film at Concordia University in Montreal, Quebec. In 1981, he directed '' My Bloody Valentine'', a low-budget ‘slasher’ for Paramount that was a modest box office hit. He has since directed in Quebec, Europe and the U.S., moving with ease from French to English, comedy to drama, theatrical features to episodic television. His 1993 satirical feature, ''La Florida'', about Quebec snowbirds, was a huge hit in that province and the Golden Reel Award winner for the highest-grossing Canadian film of the year. The Bad Seed (1956 Film)
''The Bad Seed'' is a 1956 American psychological thriller film, directed by Mervyn LeRoy and starring Nancy Kelly, Patty McCormack, Henry Jones, and Eileen Heckart. The film is based upon the 1954 play of the same name by Maxwell Anderson, which in turn is based upon William March's 1954 novel of the same name. The play was adapted by John Lee Mahin for the screenplay of the film. Plot Kenneth and Christine Penmark dote on their eight-year-old daughter Rhoda. Kenneth leaves on military duty. Monica, the Penmarks' neighbor and landlady, visits. Rhoda, pristine and proper in her pinafore dress and blonde pigtails, tells her about a penmanship competition that she lost to her schoolmate, Claude Daigle. Rhoda then leaves for her school picnic at the lake. Christine is having lunch with friends when they hear a radio report that a child has drowned in the lake. Tyrone Benskin
Tyrone Benskin (born 29 December 1958) is an English-Canadian actor, theatre director and politician. He was elected Member of Parliament in the Jeanne-Le Ber riding, in Montreal, Quebec, in the 2011 Canadian federal election and served as an MP until 2015. Life and career Benskin was born in Bristol, England but moved to Canada in 1968 at age nine. Artistic career Having studied theatre at both CEGEP and university levels in Montreal, Benskin has become a significant presence in theatre, film, television and music. His theatre credits include features appearances on such celebrated stages as the Stratford Shakespeare Festival, the National Arts Centre and the Centaur Theatre in Montreal.
