Reinaldo Paniagua Diez (July 20, 1934 – January 29, 2021) was a Puerto Rican politician who served as the seventh Puerto Rico Secretary of State from January 2, 1977, to 1979, under Governor Carlos Romero Barceló and served as acting Governor whenever the Governor was traveling. He had previously served as Romero-Barceló's campaign manager during the 1976 gubernatorial campaign. Carlos Romero Barceló
Carlos Antonio Romero Barceló (September 4, 1932 – May 2, 2021) was a Puerto Rican politician who served as the governor of Puerto Rico from 1977 to 1985. He was the second governor to be elected from the New Progressive Party (PNP). He also served 2 terms in Congress as the 16th Resident Commissioner of Puerto Rico from 1993 to 2001. Romero Barceló was the grandson of Antonio R. Barceló, a Union Party leader and advocate of Puerto Rican independence during the early 20th century, and the son of Josefina Barceló, the first woman to preside over a major political party in Puerto Rico. Cangrejeros De Santurce (baseball)
Cangrejeros de Santurce (English: Santurce Crabbers) is a professional baseball team based in Santurce, the largest barrio of San Juan, Puerto Rico. The franchise joined the Liga de Béisbol Profesional Roberto Clemente when it was the semi-professional Liga de Béisbol Semi-Profesional de Puerto Rico. Having played for over 80 years, the Cangrejeros have won sixteen national titles and five Caribbean Series. With over 2000 victories, the Cangrejeros have won the most games in the history of Puerto Rican professional baseball. A lieutenant governor, lieutenant-governor, or vice governor is a high officer of state, whose precise role and rank vary by jurisdiction. Often a lieutenant governor is the deputy, or lieutenant, to or ranked under a governor — a "second-in-command", rather like deputy governor. Liga de Béisbol Profesional Roberto Clemente (LBPRC) is the main professional baseball sports league, league in Puerto Rico; it is colloquially referred to as the Puerto Rican Winter league baseball, Winter League. In Commonwealth jurisdictions where the governor is a vice-regal position, the role of "acting governor" may be filled by a lieutenant governor (as in most Australian states) or an administrator. Puerto Rico Secretary Of State
The secretary of state of Puerto Rico ( es, Secretario de Estado de Puerto Rico) leads all efforts that promote the cultural, political, and economical relations between Puerto Rico and foreign countries, and other jurisdictions of the United States. The post was created by Article IV of the Constitution of Puerto Rico which merely establishes that the secretary serves as acting governor when the governor is unable to perform his duties—a post similar to that of a lieutenant governor in U.S. politics.
