Reignite (stylized in all caps) is a Japanese esports organization. The organization fields divisions in '' Apex Legends'', '' Fortnite'', and ''Valorant'' competitions, while also sponsoring content streamers. The organization is operated by Reignite Entertainment Co., Ltd. History Reignite was officially established on 4 January 2021. The org fielded ''Apex'' rosters in both the APAC North and APAC South regions, with the two teams competing as "Reignite North" and "Reignite South". The South team's roster was originally made up of "Zer0", "Genburten", and "Tempplex". The North team's existence was short-lived, as no org was allowed to operate teams in multiple regions for ''Apex Legends'' Global Series (ALGS) play. In September 2021, Reignite became jointly-operated by ITI Co., Ltd., and the Reignite North team became fully affiliated under the latter, rebranding as "RIG North". Rhys Perry, better known by his online alias and gaming handle Zer0, is an Australian professional ''Apex Legends'' player currently playing for Team Falcons. From Brisbane, Zer0 played professional ''Apex'' for DarkZero Esports, DarkZero from 2022 to 2024 as their In-Game Leader (IGL), before moving to Team Falcons. Competing in the Apex Legends Global Series, ''Apex Legends'' Global Series (ALGS), Zer0 is a three-time LAN gaming center, LAN winner, including winning the 2022 ALGS Championship. DarkZero Esports, or simply DarkZero (DZ), is an American esports organization. Founded in 2018, DarkZero participates in competitive ''Rainbow Six Siege, Valorant'' and ''Apex Legends'' competitions. With the latter, DarkZero is an Apex Legends Global Series, ''Apex Legends'' Global Series (ALGS) partner team. Founding and structure An American organization, DarkZero Esports was founded in 2018 by Zachary Matula. A private equity investor, Matula previously worked as a trader. Matula was the CEO of DarkZero until September 2021, when Don Kim filled the role; Kim previously served as the CEO of TSM (esports), TSM (then known as Team SoloMid), another American esports organization.
