Reidar Andreassen
Reidar Andreassen (born 19 December 1932) is a retired Norwegian long distance runner and cross-country skier. He was national champion in both athletics and skiing and competed internationally in skiing. He has received the Egebergs Ærespris, and award for excelling in one sport and showing eminent performance in another different sport. Career Andreassen was Norwegian champion in 10,000 metres in 1960. He also took silver medals in the 3000 metres steeplechase in 1957 and 1958, and in the 5000 metres in 1959. His personal best times were 1:55.4 in the 800 metres (1960), 3:50.1 in the 1500 metres (1960), 8:12.2 in the 3000 metres (1960), 9:04.6 in the 3000 metres steeplechase (1958), 14:21.6 in the 5000 metres (1960) and 30:05.0 in the 10,000 metres (1960). Herefoss
Herefoss is a village in Birkenes municipality in Agder county, Norway. The village is located on the northeastern end of the Herefossfjorden which is a large lake on the river Tovdalselva. The Norwegian National Road 41 runs through the village connecting it to Søre Herefoss, about to the south, and to Hynnekleiv in Froland, about to the north. The lake Uldalsåna lies about to the northwest. Herefoss used to have a train station along the Sørlandsbanen railway line. It was opened on 22 June 1938, but the use was discontinued in 1989. The station building is still standing. The village was the administrative centre of the old municipality of Herefoss which existed from 1838 to 1967 when it was merged into Birkenes. The FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 1958 took place 2-9 March 1958 in Lahti, Finland. This marked the third time the city hosted this event having done so in 1926 and 1938. Germany returned to the FIS Nordic Ski Championships for the first time officially since 1939, albeit as East Germany and West Germany. Additionally, it was the first championships to electronic timekeeping where results were timed to the tenth of a second rather than the full second. Arne Bakker (18 February 1930 – 9 October 2009) was a Norwegian footballer and bandy player. Football career He was born in Bærum. He started his career in Fossum IF, joined Stabæk Fotball, Stabæk IF in 1946 and Asker Fotball, Asker SK in 1949. Here he played at the Norwegian Premier League, highest level of Norwegian football. Roald Aas
Roald Edgar Aas (25 March 1928 – 18 February 2012) was a speed skater and cyclist from Norway. He was born in Oslo. Aas was the number two speed skater in Norway through the entire 1950s—initially after Hjalmar Andersen, later after Knut Johannesen. He became Norwegian champion once, in 1956, but finished second seven times. Aas participated in all international championships between 1951 and 1960, almost always finishing in the top ten. He won bronze at the World Allround Speed Skating Championships in 1958, and at two European Speed Skating Championships, in 1957 and 1960. At the Oslo Winter Olympics, he won bronze on the 1500 m, while at the Squaw Valley Winter Olympics in 1960, he finally won gold, shared with Yevgeny Grishin, also in 1500 m. Gunn Margit Aas Andreassen (born 23 July 1973 in Kristiansand) is a former Norwegian biathlete. Biathlon career She won two Olympic medals, bronze in Nagano 1998 and silver in Salt Lake City 2002, both in the relay.
