Regional Council Of Aosta Valley
The Regional Council of Aosta Valley ( it, Consiglio Regionale della Valle d'Aosta; french: Conseil de la Vallée) is the legislative assembly of the autonomous region of Aosta Valley. The assembly was founded on 29 December 1945 and its first members were selected by the central directions of the parties and approved by the Council of Ministers. The first election of the Council were held instead on 24 April 1949. Regional Council (Italy)
A regional council (''Consiglio regionale'') in Italy is the elected legislative assembly of a region of Italy. In Emilia-Romagna and Sicily, the legislative bodies are called the Legislative Assembly of Emilia-Romagna and the Sicilian Regional Assembly respectively. Origins The '' regional idea'' was born, in Italy, during the national Risorgimento and the first decades after the Unification of Italy, but any proposal was rejected until the Second World War. After the collapse of Fascism and the end of the war a violent independence movement that led to the institution of the region and the concession of the Statute, based on the model of federal states was born in Sicily. Mouv', whose complete name is United Aosta Valley – Mouv' (french: Vallée d'Aoste Unie–Mouv'), is a progressive political party active in Aosta Valley, Italy. The party was launched in March 2017 as a split from the Progressive Valdostan Union (UVP). History In June 2016 the UVP joined the regional government led by UV's Augusto Rollandin, fueling rumors of a re-unification with the UV. The move was opposed by Luciano Caveri and Claudio Brédy, who left the party in protest. In August also Elso Gérandin left the UVP. 2020 Valdostan Regional Election
The 2020 Valdostan regional election took place on 20 and 21 September 2020 in Aosta Valley, Italy. The election was originally scheduled to take place on 19 April 2020, but was then postponed first to 10 May and then delayed for a second time due to the coronavirus pandemic in Italy. Electoral law The Regional Council of Aosta Valley ( it, Consiglio regionale della Valle d'Aosta, french: Conseil de la Vallée) is composed by 35 members. The Council is elected for a five-year term. There is only one regional constituency. The President of Aosta Valley is elected by the Council. The electoral law was recently changed by the L.R. 16/2017 and the L.R. 9/2019.
