2020 Valdostan Regional Election
The 2020 Valdostan regional election took place on 20 and 21 September 2020 in Aosta Valley, Italy. The election was originally scheduled to take place on 19 April 2020, but was then postponed first to 10 May and then delayed for a second time due to the coronavirus pandemic in Italy. Electoral law The Regional Council of Aosta Valley ( it, Consiglio regionale della Valle d'Aosta, french: Conseil de la Vallée) is composed by 35 members. The Council is elected for a five-year term. There is only one regional constituency. The President of Aosta Valley is elected by the Council. The electoral law was recently changed by the L.R. 16/2017 and the L.R. 9/2019. The election of the Regional Council is based on a direct choice for the candidate and it is possible to express only one preference for the list. 2018 Valdostan Regional Election
The 2018 Valdostan regional election took place on 20 May 2018 in Aosta Valley, Italy. Background The 2013 Valdostan regional election, 2013 regional election confirmed the incumbent autonomist coalition government, led by the Valdostan Union (UV), which retained its absolute majority in the Regional Council of Aosta Valley. The coalition lost 14pp from 2008 Valdostan regional election, 2008, however. In July 2015 the regional government, which had been led by UV's Augusto Rollandin since 2008 (he had been President also in 1984–1990 and senator for Aosta Valley in 2001–2006), was enlarged to the centre-left Democratic Party (Italy), Democratic Party (PD). Progressive Valdostan Union (2013)
The Progressive Valdostan Union (french: Union Valdôtaine Progressiste, UVP) was a centre-left political party active in the Aosta Valley, Italy. Leading members were Laurent Viérin, Luigi Bertschy and Giuliano Morelli. History The party emerged in January 2013 as a split from the Valdostan Union (UV), similarly to what had happened forty years before with the historical UVP. Over the years the UV had become more acquainted with the centre-right and this caused the exit of three regional councillors ( Luciano Caveri, Laurent Viérin and Andrea Rosset), who launched the UVP on 4 January 2013. The party's first president was Claudio Brédy, who was succeeded by Alessia Favre in 2014. In the 2013 general election Viérin obtained 25.1% of the vote and missed the election to the Chamber of Deputies for less than 200 votes. Green Europe ( it, Europa Verde, EV), officially Green Europe – Greens (''Europa Verde – Verdi''), is a green political party in Italy. Its leaders are Angelo Bonelli, long-time leader of the former Federation of the Greens, and Eleonora Evi, a former member of the Five Star Movement. It was established as an electoral list to take part to the 2019 European Parliament election in connection with the European Green Party. Mouv' (political Party)
Mouv', whose complete name is United Aosta Valley – Mouv' (french: Vallée d'Aoste Unie–Mouv'), is a progressive political party active in Aosta Valley, Italy. The party was launched in March 2017 as a split from the Progressive Valdostan Union (UVP). History In June 2016 the UVP joined the regional government led by UV's Augusto Rollandin, fueling rumors of a re-unification with the UV. The move was opposed by Luciano Caveri and Claudio Brédy, who left the party in protest. In August also Elso Gérandin left the UVP. On 26 January 2017 Caveri, Brédy and Gérandin founded the "movement of opinion" Mouv', which would be later joined by Andrea Rosset and two dissident regional councillors of the Five Star Movement (M5S). Populism

The Five Star Movement ( it, Movimento 5 Stelle , M5S) is a political party in Italy. Its leader and president is Giuseppe Conte, Prime Minister of Italy from 2018 until 2021. The M5S was founded on 4 October 2009 by Beppe Grillo, a comedian and blogger, and Gianroberto Casaleggio, a web strategist.
