Aviv Regev
Aviv Regev (born July 11, 1971) is a computational biologist and systems biologist and Executive Vice President and Head of Genentech Research and Early Development in Genentech/Roche. She is a core member (on leave) at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard and professor (on leave) at the Department of Biology of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Regev is a pioneer of single cell genomics and of computational and systems biology of gene regulatory circuits. She founded and leads the Human Cell Atlas project, together with Sarah Teichmann. Education Regev studied at the Adi Lautman Interdisciplinary Program for Outstanding Students of Tel Aviv University, where she completed her Ph.D. under the supervision of Eva Jablonka and Ehud Shapiro. Amitai Regev
Amitai Regev (born December 7, 1940) is an Israeli mathematician, known for his work in ring theory. He is the Herman P. Taubman Professor of Mathematics at the Weizmann Institute of Science. He received his doctorate from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in 1972, under the direction of Shimshon Amitsur. Regev has made significant contributions to the theory of polynomial identity rings (PI rings). In particular, he proved Regev's theorem that the tensor product of two PI rings is again a PI ring. He developed so-called "Regev theory" that connects PI rings to representations of the symmetric group, and hence to Young tableaux. Eldad Regev
Eldad Regev ( he, אלדד רגב, 16 August 1980 – 12 July 2006) was an Israeli soldier abducted by Hezbollah fighters along with Ehud Goldwasser on 12 July 2006 in Israel near the Lebanese border, sparking the 2006 Lebanon War. His rank was Sergeant First Class. On 15 July 2008, coffins containing the remains of Goldwasser and Regev were returned to Israel as part of a prisoner exchange. Israeli officials claimed an examination of the bodies determined that the two reservists were killed during the ambush. A Lebanese minister claimed the soldiers were killed during the Israeli bombing. Biography Eldad was born and raised in Kiryat Motzkin. Mark Regev
Mark Regev ( he, מארק רגב; born 1960) is a former Israeli diplomat and civil servant who is currently the chair of the Abba Eban Institute for Diplomacy and Foreign Relations at Reichman University. Between June 2020 and April 2021, he served as the Prime Minister of Israel, Prime Minister's Senior Advisor for Foreign Affairs and International Communications. From 2016 to 2020 Regev was Ambassador of Israel to the United Kingdom. Previously, he was the International Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office (2007 to 2016). Oded Regev (computer Scientist)
Oded Regev (Hebrew: עודד רגב) is an Israeli-American theoretical computer scientist and mathematician. He is a professor of computer science at the Courant institute at New York University. He is best known for his work in lattice-based cryptography, and in particular for introducing the learning with errors problem. Biography Oded Regev earned his B.Sc. in 1995, M.Sc. in 1997, and Ph.D. in 2001, all from Tel Aviv University. He completed his Ph.D. at the age of 21, advised by Yossi Azar, with a thesis titled "Scheduling and Load Balancing." He held faculty positions at Tel Aviv University and the École Normale Supérieure before joining the Courant institute. Work Regev has done extensive work on lattices. Oded Regev (physicist)
Oded Regev (born 1946) is a physicist and astrophysicist, professor emeritus of the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology. He is best known for his theoretical application of fluid dynamics and dynamical systems theory to astrophysics. Career Regev was born in Poland and emigrated to Israel in 1958. His academic career was mainly in Israel. He studied physics and mathematics at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, with graduate studies and a Ph.D. at Tel Aviv University, and became a faculty member at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology. Uri Regev is a lawyer and rabbi of the Reform movement of Judaism in Israel, and an active civil rights and religious pluralism advocate.
