Reenat Fauzia
Reenat Fauzia (born 1967) is a Bangladeshi sitarist. Early life and family Fauzia was born in 1967. She is the daughter of Mobarak Hossain Khan, a former Director General of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy and the chairman of the Trustee Board of Nazrul Institute, and Fauzia Khan, a vocal artist. She is the granddaughter of Ustaad Ayet Ali Khan. Training Fauzia started her training in music lessons from her cousin Ustaad Shahadat Hossain Khan, a sarode player of Bangladesh. University Of Dhaka
The University of Dhaka (also known as Dhaka University, or DU) is a public research university located in Dhaka, Bangladesh. It is the oldest university in Bangladesh. The university opened its doors to students on July 1st 1921. Currently it is the largest public research university in Bangladesh, with a student body of 46,150 and a faculty of 1,992. Bangladesh Betar
Bangladesh Betar ( bn, বাংলাদেশ বেতার; ), or BB is the state-owned radio broadcaster of Bangladesh, initially established as the Dhaka station of All India Radio in 1939. It was later made part of Radio Pakistan. After the independence of the country in 1971, Radio Pakistan ceased transmissions there and the Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra was renamed to Bangladesh Betar, which took full control of all radio stations in the country at the time. Bangladesh Betar is a sister service to Bangladesh Television, which is also state-owned. It operates several AM and FM stations around Bangladesh. A laser is a device that emits light through a process of optical amplification based on the stimulated emission of electromagnetic radiation. The sitar ( or ; ) is a plucked stringed instrument, originating from the Indian subcontinent, used in Hindustani classical music. The instrument was invented in medieval India, flourished in the 18th century, and arrived at its present form in 19th-century India. Khusrau Khan, an 18th century figure of Mughal Empire has been identified by modern scholarship as the originator of Sitar. According to most historians he developed sitar from setar, an Iranian instrument of Abbasid or Safavid origin. Another view supported by a minority of scholars is that Khusrau Khan developed it from ''Veena''. Used widely throughout the Indian subcontinent, the sitar became popularly known in the wider world through the works of Ravi Shankar, beginning in the late 1950s and early 1960s. The Chhayanaut Sangeet Vidyatan ( bn, ছায়ানট) is an institution devoted to Bengali culture, founded in Bangladesh in 1961. As in the case of many similar organizations, it was established during Pakistani rule in Bangladesh to promote and nurture the cultural and musical heritage of Bengal. Khurshid Khan was a renowned musician and sitarist of Bangladesh. He was awarded the Independence Day Award in 2000 for his unique contribution to the pursuit of music. Early life Khan was born on 1 January 1935 in Sadakpur, Nabinagar Upazila, Brahmanbaria District, East Bengali, British India. His family, the Khan's of Brahmanbaria, are a family of well known musicians. His mother, Ambia Khanam, was the daughter of Ayet Ali Khan and his uncle was Allauddin Khan. He trained under his uncles, Abed Hossain Khan and Bahadur Khan.
