Reedsburg Area High School
Reedsburg Area High School is a public high school located in Reedsburg, Wisconsin, and is a part of the School District of Reedsburg. The high school was built in 1998 by Kraemer Brothers. It serves more than 900 students in grades 9-12 from Reedsburg, Loganville, La Valle, Ironton, Rock Springs, and the surrounding communities. Reedsburg Area High School's mascot is Herbie the Beaver. The school's colors are navy and white. Matt Terry and Katie Mathews are the current principal and vice principal, respectively. Bryan Yager is the activities director. The school offers 10 AP courses in five different departments and several dual-credit classes with Madison Area Technical College. Reedsburg Area High School has six choirs, 3 bands and an orchestra, along with a fall musical or one-act play, and a play in the spring. The School District of Reedsburg is a school district based in the city of Reedsburg, Wisconsin. Covering approximately 264 square miles, the district serves the city of Reedsburg and the villages of Ironton, LaValle, Loganville, and Rock Springs. The district administers 4 elementary schools, one intermediate school, one middle school, and one high school. It has an enrollment of over 2,800 students, and a graduation rate of 94.3%. South School (Reedsburg, Wisconsin)
South School is a historic school building in the city of Reedsburg, Wisconsin. It was designed by Frank Moulton, and built by Flad & Moulton in 1937. The school was built in the Colonial Revival style. South School served over 250 students every year in the School District of Reedsburg, until it was closed in 2019. Currently the building is unused, but there has been interest in remodeling the building into apartments. History Early history The first South School building was built in 1889, and it consisted of 2 classrooms. A second storey was added on in 1895, and it was considered to be a modern schoolhouse. A new building was planned on the South School property. Ice Hockey
Ice hockey (or simply hockey) is a team sport played on ice skates, usually on an ice skating rink with lines and markings specific to the sport. It belongs to a family of sports called hockey. A dance squad or dance team, sometimes called a pom squad or song team, is a team of participants that participates in competitive dance. A dance squad can also include: a jazz squad, ballet squad, or any kind of religion dance squad. Dance squads are a type of performance dance. In the United States and Canada most high schools, and universities, have a dance squad. These squads perform at sporting events, most commonly at football and basketball games. They perform during the pre-game activities, halftime periods, and on the sidelines during play.
