Redwalls
The Redwalls were an American rock band from Deerfield, Illinois, in suburban Chicago. The band was composed of singer/guitarist Logan Baren, bassist Justin Baren, lead guitarist Andrew Langer and a revolving cast of drummers (founding member Jordan Kozer played on debut album '' Universal Blues'', then Ben Greeno who played on ''De Nova'' and Rob Jensen who played on the self titled third album ''The Redwalls''). History Formed in 2001 whilst still in high school, the Redwalls were originally a British Invasion-inspired cover band named The Pages. They played their first show at the local jazz club ''Pops for Champagne''. ''The Redwalls'' is the self-titled third album by Chicago-based rock band The Redwalls, released in the United States on October 23, 2007. The album was recorded in Sweden with producer Tore Johansson (Franz Ferdinand, The Cardigans) while under Capitol Records. Before its release Capitol merged with Virgin Records and the band was dropped. However, they retained the rights to the album and eventually signed with MAD Dragon UNLTD, an independent student collective run by Drexel University. The Music Industry Program Entities, or the MAD Dragon Music Group (MDMG), is an umbrella company owned by Drexel University, run by university students and overseen by faculty and staff. The purpose of the company is to provide industry experience to the students in the university's Music Industry program. The companies of MDMG include MAD Dragon Records, DraKo Booking, MAD Dragon Publishing, MADKo Concerts, and artist services company Bantic Media. History of the Music Industry program The brainchild of Jonathan Estrin, the dean of the college at that time, the Music Industry program came about in 2000 when he came to Drexel to head the College of Media Arts and Design and wanted to revive the sub-par music program, "re-envisioning the media-oriented university for the new century". Undertow began in 1996 in St. Louis, Missouri, as a collective of independent artists, musicians, filmmakers, designers and creative managers sharing resources, ideas, and a love of music. Undertow Music is currently located in Champaign, Illinois. Oasis were an English rock band formed in Manchester in 1991. Lollapalooza (Lolla) is an annual American four-day music festival held in Grant Park in Chicago. It originally started as a touring event in 1991 but several years later made Chicago the permanent location for the annual music festival.
