Redhouse, Eastern Cape
Redhouse is a small village in the Eastern Cape of South Africa, located to the north of the city of Port Elizabeth. It is adjacent to a declared wetland reserve, soon hopefully to be a Ramsar site. The village is situated on the Zwartkops River, and is host to the Redhouse Yacht Club. The village was built around the Redhouse train station which is a stopping point for passenger and goods trains coming from or going to the Port Elizabeth harbour. There are over 10,000 water birds here, in the summer, including beautiful flamingos aplenty. There are no shops or businesses in Redhouse, apart from two bed and breakfast Bed and breakfast (typically shortened to B&B or BnB) is a small lodging establishment that offers overnight accommodation and breakfast. Anatidae
The Anatidae are the biological family of water birds that includes ducks, geese, and swans. The family has a cosmopolitan distribution, occurring on all the world's continents except Antarctica. These birds are adapted for swimming, floating on the water surface, and in some cases diving in at least shallow water. The family contains around 174 species in 43 genera. Redhouse Yacht Club
The Redhouse Yacht Club (RYC), which is amongst the oldest yacht clubs in South Africa, hosts large dinghy racing, dinghy races, and operates a training program that has produced international champion sailors. The club is located in the village of Redhouse, Eastern Cape, Redhouse, Eastern Cape, South Africa within a fifteen-minute drive of Port Elizabeth. Zwartkops River
Centurion (previously known as Verwoerdburg and before that Lyttelton) is an area with 236,580 inhabitants (2011 census) in the Gauteng Province of South Africa, between Pretoria and Midrand (Johannesburg). The Ramsar Convention on Wetlands of International Importance Especially as Waterfowl Habitat is an international treaty for the conservation and sustainable use of Ramsar sites (wetlands). South African Standard Time
South African Standard Time (SAST) is the time zone used by all of South Africa as well as Eswatini and Lesotho. The zone is two hours ahead of UTC ( UTC+02:00) and is the same as Central Africa Time. Daylight saving time is not observed in either time zone.
