Red Triangle (family Planning)
An inverted red triangle is the symbol for family planning health and contraception services, much as the red cross is a symbol for medical services.https://rockarch.issuelab.org/resources/28268/28268.pdf It was first introduced by Frank Wilder in December 1968 for use throughout the Global South. It first appeared in India, followed by other countries such as Ghana, Gambia, Zimbabwe, Egypt and Thailand. Throughout parts of the Global South, it is used outside shops and clinics that offer family planning products, and as in commercial and government messages that promote reproductive health services and population control. It is frequently placed on contraceptive products, such as condoms, diaphragms, spermicidal gel, and IUDs (for instance, on the government-subsidized Nirodh condoms in India and Sultan condoms in Gambia). Spermicide
Spermicide is a contraceptive substance that destroys spermatozoon, sperm, inserted vaginally prior to Sexual intercourse, intercourse to prevent pregnancy. As a contraceptive, spermicide may be used alone. However, the pregnancy rate experienced by couples using only spermicide is higher than that of couples using other methods. Usually, spermicides are combined with contraceptive barrier methods such as Diaphragm (contraceptive), diaphragms, condoms, cervical caps, and contraceptive sponge, sponges. Combined methods are believed to result in lower pregnancy rates than either method alone. Spermicides are typically unscented, clear, unflavored, non-staining, and lubricative. Red Triangle (Palestinian Symbol)
During the Gaza war, an inverted red triangle has been used by Gaza war protests, pro-Palestinian protesters. The red triangle in the Flag of Palestine, Palestinian flag represents the role the Hashemites played in the Arab Revolt. More recently, combat footage published by Hamas uses an inverted red triangle as an arrow to indicate Israeli military targets, such as Tanks of the Israel Defense Forces, tanks, just before they are struck. Nazi Concentration Camp Badge
Nazi concentration camp badges, primarily triangles, were part of the system of identification in German camps. They were used in the concentration camps in the German-occupied countries to identify the reason the prisoners had been placed there. The triangles were made of fabric and were sewn on jackets and trousers of the prisoners. These mandatory badges of shame had specific meanings indicated by their colour and shape. Such emblems helped guards assign tasks to the detainees. For example, a guard at a glance could see if someone was a convicted criminal (green patch) and thus likely of a tough temperament suitable for '' kapo'' duty. Someone with an escape suspect mark usually would not be assigned to work squads operating outside the camp fence.
