Coushatta is a town in, and the parish seat of, rural Red River Parish, Louisiana, Red River Parish in north Louisiana, United States. It is situated on the east bank of the Red River of the South, Red River. The community is approximately 45 miles south of Shreveport on U.S. Highway 71. Organization LHSAA was founded in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in October 1920. The LHSAA's main office was in Hammond from 1953 until 1972, when it returned to Baton Rouge.
