Red Flag (idiom)
The term ''red flag'' could mean either a literal flag used for signaling or, as a metaphor, a sign of some particular problem requiring attention. Background The term and the expression "to raise the red flag" come from various usages of real flags throughout history. A red flag is frequently flown by armed forces to warn the public of live fire exercises in progress, and is sometimes flown by ships carrying munitions (in this context it is actually the flag for the letter B in the international maritime signal flag alphabet, a red swallow-tailed flag). In many countries a red flag is flown to signify that an outdoor shooting range is in use. The United States Air Force refers to its largest annual exercise as Red Flag operation. Red flags are used for various signals in team sailing races (see Racing Rules of Sailing). A red flag warning is a signal of high wildfire danger, and a red flag on the beach warns of dangerous water conditions (double red flags indicate beach c ...

Red Flag – Alaska
Red Flag-Alaska is a realistic, ten-day air combat United States Air Force (USAF) training exercise held up to four times a year. It is held at Eielson Air Force Base and Elmendorf Air Force Base in the State of Alaska. Each ''Red Flag-Alaska'' exercise is a multi-service, multi-platform coordinated, combat operations exercise and corresponds to the designed operational capability of participating units. In other words, exercises often involve several units whose military mission may differ significantly from that of other participating units. ''Red Flag-Alaska'' planners take those factors into consideration when designing exercises so participants get the maximum training possible without being placed at an unfair advantage during simulated combat scenarios. History Cope Thunder Exercise Cope Thunder was a Pacific Air Forces (PACAF) sponsored exercise initiated at Clark Air Base, the Philippines, in 1976. Conceived by Brigadier General Richard G. Bandiera Rossa
''Bandiera Rossa'' (Italian for "Red Flag"), often also called ''Avanti Popolo'' after its opening words (also to avoid any confusion with '' The three flags'', another socialist song) is one of the most famous songs of the Italian labour movement. It glorifies the red flag, symbol of the socialist and communist movements. The text was written by Carlo Tuzzi in 1908; the melody is taken from two Lombard folk songs. Versions Apart from the first Italian text, there are several variants which are identified with certain socialist or communist parties. The last two lines "''Evviva il comunismo e la libertà''" were put in the text after the rise of Benito Mussolini; at the same time the original beginning "''Compagni avanti alla riscossa''" was changed to "''Avanti o popolo, alla riscossa''". Also, the word "''comunismo''" at the end of the chorus is often replaced with "''socialismo''", especially in more recent renderings of the song. Influence on other works Art music ''Bandie ...

Released on 1 December 2017, it was produced by Jacknife Lee and Ryan Tedder with Steve Lillywhite, Andy Barlow, Jolyon Thomas, Brent Kutzle, Paul Epworth, Danger Mouse, and Declan Gaffney. The album is intended to be a companion piece to U2's previous record, ''Songs of Innocence'' (2014). The album features guest appearances from several musical acts, including Haim, Kendrick Lamar, and Lady Gaga. ''Songs of Experience'' was first conceived during the ''Songs of Innocence'' sessions and initially started with Bono writing songs while recuperating from a serious November 2014 bicycle accident. U2 began work on the album in earnest during the 2015 Innocence + Experience Tour, ...

The Red Flag
"The Red Flag" () is a socialist song, emphasising the sacrifices and solidarity of the international labour movement. It is the anthem of the British Labour Party, the Northern Irish Social Democratic and Labour Party and the Irish Labour Party. It was formerly used by the New Zealand Labour Party until the late 1940s. The song is traditionally sung at the close of each party's national conference. Translated versions of the song are sung by the Japanese Communist Party and Korean People's Army. History Irishman Jim Connell wrote the song's lyrics in 1889 in Nicholas Donovan's house. There are six stanzas, each followed by the chorus. It is normally sung to the tune of "Lauriger Horatius", better known as the German carol "O Tannenbaum" ("O Christmas Tree"), though Connell had wanted it sung to the tune of a pro- Jacobite Robert Burns anthem, "The White Cockade". The use of the tune of "O Tannenbaum" was popularised by British socialist writer Adolphe Smith Headingley i ...
