Red Bull Indianapolis Grand Prix
The Indianapolis Grand Prix is a motorcycling event held on the combined road course at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in Speedway, Indiana. From 2008 to 2015, it was held as part of the Grand Prix motorcycle racing season (MotoGP). The event was revived in 2020 with MotoAmerica. The addition of a motorcycle race at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway loosely coincided with the track's Centennial Era, which celebrated the 100th anniversary of the opening of the track (1909) and the 100th anniversary of the first 500 (1911). The motorcycle race represented a "throwback" to the early days of the Speedway, as motorcycle races were in fact the first competitive racing events held on the track in August 1909. Ãlex Rins Navarro (born 8 December 1995) is a Spanish Grand Prix motorcycle racer for the LCR Honda Castrol in the MotoGP class. He was the 2011 CEV Buckler 125 Junior GP Champion, and made his Grand Prix motorcycle racing debut in the Moto3 World Championship during the season. Mika Kallio (born 8 November 1982) is a Finnish Grand Prix motorcycle racer, currently serving as the lead test and development rider for the Red Bull KTM team in MotoGP. He debuted in the 125cc World Championship with the Finnish rookie team Ajo Motorsport in the 2001 German Grand Prix and was awarded the "Rookie of the Year" with the team in 2002. The 2015 Indianapolis motorcycle Grand Prix was the tenth round of the 2015 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season. It was held at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in Speedway, Indiana on 9 August 2015. In the MotoGP category, Marc Márquez took his fifth pole position of the season and ultimately took his third win of the season — and his fifth consecutive win at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Livio Loi (born 27 April 1997 in Hasselt) is a Belgian professional Grand Prix motorcycle racer. He competed in the Moto3 World Championship in and the first half of the season for the Marc VDS Racing Team, before being replaced by Jorge Navarro. In 2015, Loi returned to the series with RW Racing GP. After scoring 15 points in the first half of the season, Loi achieved his first Grand Prix victory at Indianapolis; in a wet-to-dry race, Loi started the race on slick tyres, and finished almost 40 seconds clear of the next rider, John McPhee. The 2015 FIM MotoGP World Championship was the premier class of the 67th F.I.M. Road Racing World Championship season. The championship was won by Spanish rider Jorge Lorenzo, racing for Movistar Yamaha Factory. It was his third and final world title in the MotoGP category, his fifth overall in Grand Prix motorcycle racing.
