Reborn Armenia
Reborn Armenia ( hy, Վերածնվող Հայաստան, translit=Veratsnvogh Hayastan), also translated as Resurgent Armenia and Reviving Armenia, is an Armenian political party. It was founded on 20 March 2021 and is currently led by Vahe A. Hakobyan. History The party was established in 2021. Its chairman is Vahe Alberti Hakobyan. Hakobyan previously served as governor of the Syunik Province of Armenia (not to be confused with Vahe M. Hakobyan, another former governor of Syunik). Several party members, including Vahe Hakobyan, formerly belonged to the Republican Party of Armenia. The party has also stated that they would cooperate with other political parties in the country, but that they would refuse to work with the Sasna Tsrer Pan-Armenian Party. During the 2020–2021 Armenian protests, the party called for Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to resign. Vahe A
Vahe Haykazuni ( hy, Վահէ Հայկազունի; 351 BC – 331 BC), also known simply as Vahe, was a king of Armenia. He was the last offspring of the Hayk Dynasty. According to Moses of Khoren, he was an ally of Darius III, King of Persia. He revolted against Alexander the Great but was killed in battle. Because of his bravery, his name Vahe, became synonymous for the Armenians as a true warrior and a true king. Many Armenians are named Vahe (or Vahé) after him, Vahe being a common given name. With his death, the Armenian Haykazuni dynasty came to an end and Armenia was subjected to 10 years of Macedonian rule. 2020–2021 Armenian Protests
The 2020−2021 Armenian protests (also known as the March of Dignity; hy, Արժանապատվության երթ, translit=Arzhanapatvut'yan yert') were a series of protests that began following the Nagorno-Karabakh ceasefire agreement on 10 November 2020. After Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that he signed an agreement to cede Armenian-occupied territories in Azerbaijan and put an end to six weeks of hostilities over the Nagorno-Karabakh region, thousands of people took to the streets, and hundreds stormed the Parliament building in the capital Yerevan. Protests continued throughout November, with demonstrations in Yerevan and other cities demanding the resignation of Nikol Pashinyan. Armenian Diaspora
The Armenian diaspora refers to the communities of Armenians outside Armenia and other locations where Armenians are considered an indigenous population. Since antiquity, Armenians have established communities in many regions throughout the world. However, the modern Armenian diaspora was largely formed as a result of World War I, when the Armenian genocide committed by the Ottoman Empire forced Armenians living in their homeland to flee or risk being killed. Another wave of emigration started with the dissolution of the Soviet Union. Robert Kocharyan
Robert Sedraki Kocharyan ( hy, Ռոբերտ Սեդրակի Քոչարյան ; born 31 August 1954) is an Armenian politician. He served as the President of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic from 1994 to 1997 and Prime Minister of Nagorno-Karabakh from 1992 to 1994. He served as the second President of Armenia between 1998 and 2008 and as Prime Minister of Armenia from 1997 to 1998. Kocharyan was elected president of Armenia twice, in 1998 and 2003; both presidential elections were held in two rounds. The Armenian Revolutionary Federation ( hy, Հայ Յեղափոխական Դաշնակցութիւն, ՀՅԴ ( classical spelling), abbr. 2021 Armenian Parliamentary Election
Snap parliamentary elections were held in Armenia on 20 June 2021. The elections had initially been scheduled for 9 December 2023, but were called earlier due to a political crisis following the 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh War and an alleged attempted coup in February 2021. Nikol Pashinyan, who had served as Prime Minister since 2018, resigned in April 2021 and subsequently the seventh National Assembly was dissolved on 10 May. Pashinyan continued to serve as acting prime minister until the elections were held. Following the election, Pashinyan's Civil Contract party received 54% of the vote and won 71 seats, a majority in the 107-seat parliament.
