Rebeca Melissa Fernández Valiente (born 1 December 1991) is a Paraguayan footballer who plays as a forward for Chilean side Club Universidad de Chile. She is a member of the Paraguay women's national team. International career Fernández represented Paraguay at the 2008 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup. Forwards (also known as attackers) are outfield positions in an association football team who play the furthest up the pitch and are therefore most responsible for scoring goals as well as assisting them. As with any attacking player, the role of the forward relies heavily on being able to create space for attack.
