''Real Brothas'' is the debut album of rappers B.G. Knocc Out and Dresta, released in 1995. The album includes the minor hits "D.P.G./K", "Jealousy" and the Eazy-E-dedicated song " 50/50 Luv". "D.P.G./K" was a diss track towards Death Row artists Snoop Doggy Dogg, Dr. Dre, Dat Nigga Daz, Kurupt and Nate Dogg. Music videos were made for "D.P.G/K", "50/50", and "Jealousy". A music video for "Compton Swangin'" was made but never released. The album sold approximately 250,000 copies without any promotional advertising. Dresta
Andre DeSean Wicker (born April 18, 1970), better known by his stage name Dresta (sometimes Gangsta Dresta), is an American rapper. He is best known for collaborating with Eazy-E on the 1993 single "Real Muthaphuckkin G's". He is the older brother of rapper B.G. Knocc Out, who is also featured on the song. Together, they released their only studio album ''Real Brothas'', in August 1995, which peaked at #128 on the ''Billboard'' 200. In 1996, the pair appeared on the remixed version of the South Central Cartel song, "Knock on Wood". "Hollywood Swinging" is a 1974 song by R&B/ funk band Kool & the Gang from their album '' Wild and Peaceful''. It was written by Robert "Kool" Bell, Ronald Bell, George M. Brown, Robert "Spike" Mickens, Claydes Charles Smith, Dennis R. Thomas and Rick A. Westfield. "Hollywood Swinging" was the group's first number one R&B single, reaching that position in June 1974. Vaughan Mason & Crew was an American funk and post-disco based group led by Vaughan Mason (October 24, 1950 – April 2, 2020). They are best known for their single "Bounce, Rock, Skate, Roll", which reached number 5 on the US ''Billboard'' Hot Soul Singles and number 38 on the Disco Top 100 charts in 1980, riding the crest of the roller disco wave that was popular at the time. Teddy Pendergrass
Theodore DeReese Pendergrass (March 26, 1950 – January 13, 2010) was an American soul and R&B singer-songwriter. He was born in Kingstree, South Carolina. Pendergrass spent most of his life in the Philadelphia area, and initially rose to musical fame as the lead singer of Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes. After leaving the group in 1976, Pendergrass launched a successful solo career under the Philadelphia International label, releasing five consecutive platinum albums (a record at the time for an African-American R&B artist). Pendergrass's career was suspended after a March 1982 car crash left him paralyzed from the shoulders down. Pendergrass continued his successful solo career until announcing his retirement in 2007. Brick is an American band that created a successful merger of funk and jazz in the 1970s. Their most popular single was "Dazz", (#3 U.S. Pop, #1 U.S. R&B, #36 UK Singles Chart) which was released in 1976. History Brick was formed in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1972 from members of two bands - one disco and the other jazz. They coined their own term for disco-jazz, "dazz". They released their first single "Music Matic" on Main Street Records in 1976, before signing to the independently distributed Bang Records. Their next single, "Dazz", (#3 Pop, #1 R&B) was released in 1976. The band continued to record for Bang records until 1982.
