Pietro Sermonti
Pietro Sermonti (born 25 October 1971) is an Italian stage, film and television actor. Life and career Born in Rome, Sermonti is the son of writer of Tuscan and Sicilian descent, and businesswoman Samaritana Rattazzi from Piedmont, a daughter of Susanna Agnelli. He was a promising footballer in the Juventus' youth team, but had to give up a professional career because of health problems. After graduating from Lycee Chateaubriand de Rome, he enrolled at several drama laboratories and attended the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute. Sermonti made his professional debut on stage in ''Quer pasticciaccio brutto de via Merulana'', directed by Luca Ronconi. He had his breakout in 2003, with the role of Guido Zanin in the TV-series ''Un medico in famiglia''. Vincenzo Amato
Vincenzo Amato (born 30 March 1966) is an Italian actor and sculptor. Life and career Born in Palermo, the son of the stage director and folk musician Emma Muzzi Loffredo, after high school Amato moved to Rome, where his mother lived. Always dedicated to painting, finished the university Amato focused on iron sculpting. After a couple of exhibitions at the art gallery Il Gabbiano in Rome, he moved to Manhattan, and he began to exhibit with some success at the Earl McGrath Gallery in New York. In the US, Amato became friends with the director Emanuele Crialese, who directed his debut as an actor in the film '' Once We Were Strangers''. His career as an actor had a breakthrough with the role of the fisherman Pietro in Crialise's next film, ''Respiro''. Dante Spinotti, A.S.C., A.I.C. (born 22 August 1943) is an Italian cinematographer and a member of the board of governors of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. He is known for his collaborations with directors Michael Mann, Michael Apted, Deon Taylor, and Brett Ratner, and is frequently credited with helping to pioneer the use of high-definition digital video in cinematography. Giovanna Mezzogiorno (; born 9 November 1974) is an Italian theatre and film actress. Early life Mezzogiorno was born in Rome, 9 November 1974, a daughter of actors Vittorio Mezzogiorno and Cecilia Sacchi. She grew up watching her parents on set. At first, she wanted to become a ballerina, and she studied dancing for 13 years. After her father's death when she was 19, Mezzogiorno moved to Paris, where she attended the stages by Arianne Mnouchkine and worked for two years at the Peter Brook Workshop. She made her stage debut with the role of Ofelia in ''Qui est là'', based on Shakespeare's ''Hamlet''. The play toured various European cities. Paolo Fresu ( sc, Pàulu; born 10 February 1961) is an Italian jazz trumpet and flugelhorn player, as well as a composer and arranger of music. Career Born in Berchidda, Sardinia, he picked up the trumpet at the age of 11, and played in the band Bernardo de Muro in his home town Berchidda. Fresu graduated from the Conservatory of Cagliari in 1984, in trumpet studies under Enzo Morandini, and attended the University of Bologna School of music and performing arts in Bologna. Neo-noir is a revival of film noir, a genre that had originally flourished during the post-World War II era in the United Statesroughly from 1940 to 1960. The French term, ''film noir'', translates literally to English as "black film", indicating sinister stories often presented in a shadowy cinematographic style.
