Raza Mir
Raza Mir (1927 – 15 September 2002) was a Pakistani cinematographer, producer and director. He was the cinematographer of the Pakistan's first ever film '' Teri Yaad'' (1948). He is best known for ''Lakhon Mein Aik'' (1967), which was based on Hindu-Muslims relations. His work as a cinematographer earned him three Nigar Awards. He was also awarded with the President's Pride of Performance. Early life Mir was born in 1927 at Lahore, Punjab, British India. Career Mir first joined The Pancholi Studio as a cameraman in 1943. ''Shehar Se Door'' (1946) is his only film as an actor, where he played the lead role opposite Meena Shorey. He was the cinematographer of Pakistan's first ever film '' Teri Yaad'' (1949) in which Asha Posley and Nasir Khan were the leads. He had a difficult time while filming with the poor technology and cameras due to which the film received poor reviews. Neend
''Neend'' is a Pakistani drama film directed by Hassan Tariq in his directorial debut and released in 1959. Based on a story and screenplay by Riaz Shahid, the films stars Noor Jehan, Neelo and Aslam Pervaiz with Nighat Sultana, Allauddin and Agha Talish in supporting roles. The music was done by Rashid Attre while Noor Jehan also sang two songs of the film. ''Neend'' is one of the last films of Noor Jahan, after which she retired from acting. The film was a hit at the box office and was later remade by the director in 1977 as '' Begum Jaan''. Pride Of Performance Award
The Pride of Performance ( ur, ), officially known as Presidential Pride of Performance, is an award bestowed by the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to recognize people with "notable achievements in the field of art, science, literature, sports, and nursing". The Pride of Performance is the highest national literary award of Pakistan conferred upon its citizens and, while it recognizes literary contribution, it can also be conferred upon foreign nationals. It is usually awarded by the president once a year at the Pakistan resolution day, but announcements are made at independence day ceremony held on 14 August. The award recommendations are made by the country's administrative units or respective ministry to the state governments where officials send it to the Cabinet Secretariat and then president or federal government for final approval. ''Beti'' (also spelled as ''Baitee'' ) is a Pakistani film directed by Raza Mir and produced by Iqbal Shehzad. Nazim Panipati was the story writer, with dialogues by Zia Sarhadi. It stars Neelo and Ejaz with child actor Gutto in lead roles. The plot revolves around a famous actress who accepts anonymity to save her daughter and house.
