Raymond Basham
Raymond E. Basham (born May 24, 1945) is a politician from the U.S. state of Michigan. He was a Democratic member of the Michigan Senate, representing the 8th District from 2003 to 2009. His district was located in central Wayne County. Previously he was a member of the Michigan House of Representatives from 1997 to 2002. He currently serves as a member of the Wayne County Commission. Career Basham served in the U.S. Air Force from 1962 to 1966. From 1969 to 1997, he was employed by the Ford Motor Company. During his tenure, he was appointed as an Employee Support Services Representative for the United Auto Workers (UAW) Local 245. He also served on various UAW committees, including the bargaining committee and education committee. Basham served as an Auxiliary Police Officer from 1979 to 1984. The International Union, United Automobile, Aerospace, and Agricultural Implement Workers of America, better known as the United Auto Workers (UAW), is an American labor union that represents workers in the United States (including Puerto Rico) and Canada.
