The Rayeen or Raeen (Punjabi language, Punjabi: ) is a Punjabi people, Punjabi Sunni Muslim community associated with the Arain tribe. They are big and small level farmers mainly in the Nainital, Rampur, Bareilly and Pilibheet regions. of Western part of the state of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand in India. Punjabi Language
Punjabi (; ; , ), sometimes spelled Panjabi, is an Indo-Aryan language of the Punjab region of Pakistan and India. It has approximately 113 million native speakers. Arain
Arain (also known as Raeen) are a large Punjabi agricultural tribe with strong political identity and organisation, found mainly in the Pakistani provinces of Punjab and Sindh with a small population in parts of Indian Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Origins The historian and political scientist Christophe Jaffrelot believes that the Arain are displaced farming communities who moved to Punjab from Sindh and Multan as Arab Muslim armies encroached; they originally practised Hinduism but many later converted to Islam. He says that the community is related to the Kamboj Rajput community mainly located in northern India and eastern Pakistan. Sirsa District
Sirsa district is the largest district of Haryana state. Sirsa is the district headquarters. It is located on National Highway 9 and from the capital Delhi. Etymology The district is named after its headquarters, Sirsa. The name, Sirsa is derived from its ancient Sanskrit name ''Sairishaka'', which is mentioned in the Mahabharata, the Ashtadhyayi and the Divyavadana. In ''Mahabharata'', Sairishaka is described as being taken by Nakula in his conquest of the western quarter. It must have been a flourishing city in the 5th century B.C. as it has been mentioned by Panini. There are a number of legends about the origin of the name of the town.
