Ray Treacy (track And Field)
Ray Treacy (born November 25, 1954) is a former competitive distance runner and coach of collegiate and professional runners. He began coaching track and field and cross country at Providence College in the U.S. state of Rhode Island in 1984, and became the head coach in 1986. Education and early athletics competition Treacy was born in County Waterford, Ireland and was an Irish national junior champion and a member of the Irish National Cross Country Team. He attended Providence College in Rhode Island, graduating in 1982. He represented Ireland in the World Cross Country Championships in 1977–79. His best road race times were in 1983, 47:42 for the Ballycotton IRL 10 mile, 2:16:54 while in finishing second in the Cork IRL Marathon, and 10 km in 28:48 in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1985. Distance Runner
Long-distance running, or endurance running, is a form of continuous running over distances of at least . Physiologically, it is largely aerobic in nature and requires stamina as well as mental strength. Within endurance running comes two different types of respiration. The more prominent side that runners experience more frequently is aerobic respiration. This occurs when oxygen is present, and the body is able to utilize oxygen to help generate energy and muscle activity. On the other side, anaerobic respiration occurs when the body is deprived of oxygen, and this is common towards the final stretch of races when there is a drive to speed up to a greater intensity. Amy Hastings
Amy Cragg (née Hastings; born January 21, 1984) is an American track and field athlete, specializing in long distance running events. She is the 2015 American champion in the Marathon, the 2012 American champion in the 10,000 meters, and a qualifier for the 2012 Summer Olympics. Early career Hastings went to high school at Leavenworth High School in Leavenworth, Kansas. During her career, she captured three state titles on the track and won the state cross country championships. She was an Arizona State University teammate of Desiree Davila, the qualifying second-place finisher in that same race. Jordan Melissa Hasay (born September 21, 1991) is an American distance runner. She grew up in Arroyo Grande, California, and attended Mission College Preparatory High School in San Luis Obispo. She was unanimously selected 2008 Girls High School Athlete of the Year by the voting panel at ''Track and Field News''. In March 2009, she became the ninth high school athlete and third woman on the cover of ''Track and Field News'' magazine. The 2019 London Marathon was the 39th running of the annual marathon race in London, United Kingdom, which took place on 28 April. The elite men's race was won by Kenyan Eliud Kipchoge, who took his fourth London Marathon victory in a time of 2:02:37, the second fastest marathon ever at that point. Molly Huddle (born August 31, 1984) is an American long-distance runner who competes in track and cross country running events. Huddle set the American record in the 5000 m at the 2014 Herculis Diamond League meet in Fontvieille, Monaco (14:42.64), which has since been lowered by Shannon Rowbury and Shelby Houlihan. Stephanie Reilly (née O'Reilly, born 23 February 1978 in Dublin, Ireland) is an Irish long distance runner who competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in the 3000 metres steeplechase. Dylan Wykes (born June 6, 1983) is a Canadian long-distance runner. He represented Canada in the marathon at the 2009 IAAF World Championships in Athletics in Berlin, Germany as well as the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, England.
