The Atom (comics), Atom (Raymond "Ray" Palmer) is a superhero appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. The character was created by editor and co-plotter Julius Schwartz, writer Gardner Fox and penciler Gil Kane. The Atom was one of the first superheroes of the Silver Age of Comic Books and debuted in ''Showcase (comics), Showcase'' #34 (October 1961). The Atom has been played in various TV series by Alfie Wise and John Kassir. Ray Palmer (Arrowverse), He was played by Brandon Routh in ''Legends of Tomorrow'' in the shared DC Arrowverse on The CW. Steve Dillon
Steve Dillon (22 March 1962 – 22 October 2016) was a British comic book artist, best known for his work with writer Garth Ennis on ''Hellblazer'', ''Preacher'' and ''The Punisher''. Early life Dillon was born in London in 1962 and raised in Luton, Bedfordshire. He was the oldest of three siblings, a sister younger by three years, Julie, and a brother younger by nine years who is cartoonist/costume designer Glyn Dillon. While attending Icknield High School, Dillon first realised his potential as a serious comic book artist during the production of a school comic book called ''Ultimate Sci Fi Adventures'' with school friends Neil Bailey & Paul Mahon in 1975. His first strip in this comic was "The Space Vampire". This was followed by the ''Escape from the Planet of the Apes'' series. Frank Robbins
Franklin Robbins (September 9, 1917 – November 28, 1994) was an American comic book and comic strip artist and writer, as well as a prominent painter whose work appeared in museums including the Whitney Museum of American Art, where one of his paintings was featured in the 1955 Whitney Annual Exhibition of American Painting. Early life Born in Boston, Robbins was in his teens when he received a Rockefeller grant and scholarships to the Boston Museum and the National Academy of Design in New York. Career Robbins' early career included work as an assistant to Edward Trumbull on his NBC building murals, and creating promotional materials for RKO Pictures. Comic strips In 1939, the Associated Press hired Robbins to take over the aviation strip '' Scorchy Smith'' which he drew until 1944. Robbins created his '' Johnny Hazard'' strip in 1944 and worked on it for more than three decades until it ended in 1977.
