Rawshan Ara Bachchu
Rawshan Ara Bachchu (17 December 1932 – 3 December 2019) was a Bangladeshi activist. She took part in Bengali Language Movement in 1952. She was awarded Anannya Top Ten Awards in 2009. Early life Bachchu's family originated from Kulaura in Moulvibazar District. She was a student of Brojomohun College. In 1947, at the initiative of the university students and Tamaddun Majlish, she along with 7 or 8 other students formed the State Language Action Council. Language movement Bachchu got involved in the politics of Gonotantrik Pragotishil Chhatra Front (Democratic Progressive Student Front) in 1950 after getting admitted into the University of Dhaka. She argued in favor of women's participation in politics in a radio program in April 1950. Kulaura Upazila
Kulaura ( bn, কুলাউড়া) is the biggest upazila (subdistrict) of the Moulvibazar District in north-eastern Bangladesh. The total area of this upazila is 545 km2. Hakaluki Haor, the largest marsh wetland in Sylhet and one of the largest in Bangladesh is partially located there. Etymology According to Tarikh-i-Halimi, Mamand Mansur, a famous Dewan of Mansur village, had an uncle called Mamantad Kulaor Kumar who was the brother of Mansur's father Mamand Manuhar. After the death of Kulaor Kumar, a market was established on the eastern part of his own zamindari and named as "Kulaor Bazar". Over time, Kulaorar Bazar changed to Kulaura. The Tamaddun Majlish ( bn, তমদ্দুন মজলিশ), formerly Pakistan Tamaddun Majlish, is an Islamic cultural organization in Bangladesh, established in 1947 by Principal Abul Kashem in the former East Pakistan. It was one of the founding organizations of the Bengali Language Movement. Establishment and ideological background Tamaddun Majlish was established in Dhaka immediately after the partition of India on September 1, 1947, by Principal Abul Kashem, a professor in the physics department of Dhaka University. Khawaja Nazimuddin
Sir Khawaja Nazimuddin ( bn, খাজা নাজিমুদ্দীন; ur, ; 19 July 1894 – 22 October 1964) was a Pakistani politician and one of the leading founding fathers of Pakistan. He is noted as being the first Bengali to have ruled Pakistan, first as a Governor-General (1948–51), and later as a Prime Minister (1951–53). Govt. Brojomohun College, Barisal (also BM College) is one of the oldest institutions of higher education in Bangladesh. It is located in the city of Barisal in south-western Bangladesh. History On June 14, 1889, Aswini Kumar Dutta founded Brojo Mohan College, which was named after his father, Brajamohan Dutta. The first principal of the college was Babu Gyan Chandra Chowdhury. Moulvibazar ( bn, মৌলভীবাজার, is a town in north-eastern Bangladesh just south of Sylhet. It is the capital of Moulvibazar Sadar Upazila and Moulvibazar District, and is located on the banks of the Manu River. History In 1771, Moulvi Syed Qudratullah established a bazaar near the banks of the Manu River using his zamindari land.
