Rauno Miettinen
Rauno Miettinen (born 25 May 1949 in Kuopio) is a Finnish former Nordic combined skier. He earned a silver in the individual event at the 1972 Winter Olympics in Sapporo. Miettinen also won three Nordic combined silver medals in the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships (Individual: 1978, 3 x 10 km team: 1982 (tied with Norway), 1984). His biggest success as a Nordic combined athlete was at the Holmenkollen ski festival, where he won the event five times (1969, 1971–1973, 1978). Rauno Suominen
Rauno Suominen (20 April 1939 – 6 July 2018) was a Finnish tennis player and coach. Career Suominen represented the Finland Davis Cup team in four Davis Cup ties, from 1965 to 1972. His first match was the 1965 Europe Zone first round tie against Austria. During his Davis Cup career, he won one of the five singles match and was on the losing side in all 3 doubles matches that he played. Suominen served as national coach for the Finland Tennis Association from 1971 to 1972 and 1977 to 1979. He relocated to the United States in 1972 to become Head Professional at the Four Seasons Racquet Club in Williamsville from 1972 to 1976 and again from 1979 to 1980. In 1993, he began working as an independent pro in Salt Lake City. Suominen died of motor neuron disease in 2018. Rauno Saunavaara is a paralympic track and field, athlete from Finland competing mainly in category F54 javelin events. Biography Rauno has competed in the javelin at the Paralympics three occasions winning a medal on each occasion. Rauno Sappinen (born 23 January 1996) is an Estonian professional footballer who plays as a forward for Ekstraklasa side Stal Mielec, on loan from Piast Gliwice, and the Estonia national team. Club career Flora Sappinen came through the youth system at Flora and made his debut in the Meistriliiga on 2 March 2013, in a 4–1 home win over Tallinna Kalev. He won his first Meistriliiga title in the 2015 season. Sappinen's performances in 2015 also saw him voted Estonian Young Footballer of the Year. Rauno Pehka (born January 1, 1969) is a retired Estonian professional basketball player who played mostly at the point guard position. He won the Soviet Union league championship in 1991 as a member of the Tallinn Kalev basketball team. Pehka mostly played in Estonia. Rauno Nurger (born 24 November 1993) is an Estonian basketball player for Kalev/Cramo of the Estonian League and VTB United League. He is a 2.08 m (6 ft 10 in) tall power forward and center. Nurger played college basketball for the Wichita State Shockers. High school career Nurger played for Sunrise Christian Academy in Wichita, Kansas. He averaged 10 points and 9 rebounds for the postgraduate team during 2013–14 season. College career Nurger originally signed with Ole Miss but was released from his letter of intent following a coaching change. He then committed to Wichita State in the early summer of 2014. In his freshman year Nurger appeared in 24 games off the bench, averaging 2.3 points and 1.2 rebounds in 8.8 minutes.
