Rasuwa District ( ne, रसुवा जिल्ला is one of 13 districts of Bagmati Province and one of seventy-seven districts of Nepal. The district, with Dhunche as its district headquarters, covers an area of and has a population (2011) of 43,300. As per census 2011 total households in Rasuwa district is 9,778. It is the smallest district by area, among 16 districts in the ''Himalaya'' region of Nepal. Etymology Origin of its name had begun as 'Rasowa' which is believed to be derived as a combination of two Tibetan words ''ra'' (meaning: lambs) and ''sowa'' (meaning: grazing) as it was known for its lamb and grazing lands. Dhunche
Dhunche is the administrative seat of Rasuwa District in Bagmati Zone, Nepal. It is a part of Gosaikunda Rural Municipality. It is located at an altitude of . At the time of the 2001 Nepal census it had a population of 2,535 people residing in 604 individual households. To promote local culture Dhunche has one FM radio station, Radio Rasuwa - 102.1 MHz, which is a community radio station. Dhunche is the headquarters of Rasuwa district. It is accessible through bus via Pasang Lhamu Highway (H12) and is 120 km from Kathmandu. Langtang, Rasuwa
Langtang was a village development committee (VDC) in Rasuwa District in the Bagmati Zone of northern Nepal. It was located within the Langtang valley. At the time of the 1991 Nepal census it had a population of 468 people living in 100 individual households. Government The purpose of Village Development Committees is to organise village people structurally at a local level and to create a partnership between the community and the public sector for improved service delivery system. A VDC has a status as an autonomous institution and authority for interacting with the more centralised institutions of governance in Nepal. Bagmati Province ( ne, बाग्मती प्रदेश, ''Bagmati Pradesh'') is one of the seven provinces of Nepal established by the constitution of Nepal. Langtang
Langtang valley is a Himalayan valley in the mountains of north-central Nepal, known for its trekking routes and natural environment. Administrative The Langtang valley lies in the Rasuwa district of the Bagmati Province in Nepal. Situated 80 kilometres north of the Kathmandu Valley, the valley lies within the Langtang national park, which borders the Tibet autonomous region of China. Prior to the 2015 earthquake, 668 individuals are estimated to have lived within the Langtang valley. Ecology The Langtang valley lies within the Langtang National Park. District administration makes up the third level of government division in Nepal. Gosaikunda
Gosaikunda, also spelled Gosainkunda, also called Silu. is an alpine freshwater oligotrophic lake in Nepal's Langtang National Park, located at an elevation of in the Rasuwa District with a surface of . Together with associated lakes, the Gosaikunda Lake complex is in size and was designated a Ramsar site on 29 September 2007. The lake melts to form the Trishuli River; it remains frozen for six months in winter October to June. There are 108 lakes in the vicinity. The Lauribina La pass at an elevation of is on its outskirts. Religious significance The Gosaikunda area has been delineated as a religious site. Hindu mythology attributes Gosaikunda as the abode of the Hindu deities Shiva and Gauri. Tamang Language
Tamang (Devanagari: तामाङ; ''tāmāng'') is a term used to collectively refer to a dialect cluster spoken mainly in Nepal, Sikkim, West Bengal (Darjeeling) and North-Eastern India. Provincial Assembly (Nepal)
The Provincial Assembly ( ne, प्रदेश सभा; ''Pradesh Sabha'') is the unicameral legislative assembly for a federal province of Nepal. According to Article 176 of the Constitution of Nepal 2015, following the dissolution of the provincial assembly all the members forming the Provincial Assembly are elected. The term for the Provincial Assembly is five years, except when dissolved earlier. Candidates for each constituency are chosen by the political parties or stand as independents.
