Ras Mubarak
Ras Mubarak (born 3 June 1979) is a farmer, freelance media publicist, and politician. He belongs to the National Democratic Congress. He was the chief executive officer of the National Youth Authority (Ghana) from 2013 to 2016. Ras Mubarak used to be a Reggae music Presenter at Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, where he worked both on radio and Television. Early life and education Ras Mubarak was born in Tamale, in the Northern Region of Ghana but hails from Satani, in the Kumbungu district where his great grandfather was Paramount Chief. He holds a Diploma in Journalism from the London School of Journalism and Post Graduate Diploma(NIBS) in International Development Studies from the University of Oslo Norway, and a Post Graduate Certificate in Business Administration from the Nobel International Business School in Accra. NDC (Ghana)
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is a social democratic political party in Ghana, founded by Jerry Rawlings, who was Head of State of Ghana from 1981 to 1993 and the President of Ghana from 1993 to 2001. Following the formation of the Provisional National Defence Council (PNDC), which ruled Ghana following the military coup d'état on 31 December 1981, there was pressure from the international community to restore democracy. The NDC was formed as the ruling party ahead of elections in 1992, in which Rawlings was elected president, and in 1996 Rawlings was re-elected as the NDC candidate. Rawlings' second term ended in 2001. The NDC lost the presidency in the 2000 election, and it was not until the 2008 election, that they regained it with John Atta Mills as its candidate.
