''Rarities 1994–1999'' is the second compilation album from rock group Silverchair released in December 2002 by Murmur/Sony Music Entertainment. It was originally a limited edition bonus disc packaged with the compilation, '' The Best Of: Volume 1'' (December 2000), and was issued as a separate budget-priced album when the two-disc version was discontinued in 2002. The 2002 version featured new ''Neon Ballroom''-themed artwork. As with the earlier collection, the band was not involved in compiling the tracks, having left Sony in early 2000. Silverchair were an Australian Rock music, rock band, which formed in 1992 as Innocent Criminals in Newcastle, New South Wales, with Ben Gillies on drums, Daniel Johns on vocals and guitars, and Chris Joannou on bass guitar. The group got their big break in mid-1994 when they won a national demo competition conducted by SBS (Australian TV channel), SBS TV show ''Nomad'' and ABC radio station Triple J. It catalogs more than three million album entries and 30 million tracks, as well as information on musicians and bands. Initiated in 1991, the database was first made available on the Internet in 1994. AllMusic is owned by RhythmOne. History AllMusic was launched as ''All Music Guide'' by Michael Erlewine, a "compulsive archivist, noted astrologer, Buddhist scholar and musician". ''Spawn'' is a 1997 American superhero film based on the Image Comics character of the same name. Directed by Mark A.Z. Minor Threat
Minor Threat was an American hardcore punk band, formed in 1980 in Washington, D.C. by vocalist Ian MacKaye and drummer Jeff Nelson. MacKaye and Nelson had played in several other bands together, and recruited bassist Brian Baker and guitarist Lyle Preslar to form Minor Threat. They added a fifth member, Steve Hansgen, in 1982, playing bass, while Baker switched to second guitar. The band was relatively short-lived, disbanding after only three years together, but had a strong influence on the punk scene, both stylistically and in establishing a " do it yourself" ethic for music distribution and concert promotion. Minor Threat's song " Straight Edge" became the eventual basis of the straight edge movement, which emphasized a lifestyle without alcohol or other drugs, or promiscuous sex. "Miss You Love" is a song by the Australian rock band Silverchair. It was released as the third single from their 1999 album ''Neon Ballroom''. AllMusic critic Jason Anderson called the song a weepy ballad reminiscent of Goo Goo Dolls. Background The song was written when Daniel Johns was suffering from severe depression, among other things. In an interview with ''Kerrang!'' magazine, Johns said that the song was "about not being able to establish a relationship with anyone, not being able to experience love outside of family". He also mentioned that he "wanted a song that people could perceive as a love song, while the lyrics are actually very angry". Black Flag (band)
Black Flag is an American punk rock band formed in 1976 in Hermosa Beach, California. Initially called Panic, the band was established by Greg Ginn, the guitarist, primary songwriter, and sole continuous member through multiple personnel changes in the band. They are widely considered to be one of the first hardcore punk bands, as well as one of the pioneers of After breaking up in 1986, Black Flag reunited in 2003 and again in 2013. The second reunion lasted well over a year, during which they released their first studio album in nearly three decades, '' What The...'' (2013). "Tomorrow" is a song by Australian rock band Silverchair, which was released on 16 September 1994 on their debut extended play album, also titled ''Tomorrow''. The song was later released on ''Frogstomp'', the band's debut studio album, in 1995. "Freak" is a 1997 song by Australian rock band Silverchair, released as the first single from their second album, ''Freak Show'' (1997).
