RapidBus (TransLink)
RapidBus is an express bus network with bus rapid transit elements in Metro Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. History On November 23, 2016, the Mayors' Council and TransLink's board of directors approved the first phase of the 10-Year Vision, which included provisions for new B-Line routes (later rebranded as RapidBus) which began service in January 2020. In July 2019, TransLink announced that all future B-Line routes would officially be launched under new "RapidBus" branding and that the 95 and 96 B-Lines would also transition to that branding, leaving route 99 as the only remaining B-Line. The first wave of routes using the RapidBus brandingconsisting of the R1 King George Blvd (the former 96 B-Line), the new R3 Lougheed Hwy, the new R4 41st Ave (replacing the 43 express service along 41st Avenue), and the R5 Hastings St (the former 95 B-Line)launched on January 6, 2020. TransLink (British Columbia)
TransLink, formally the South Coast British Columbia Transportation Authority, is the statutory authority responsible for the regional transportation network of Metro Vancouver in British Columbia, Canada, including public transport, major roads and bridges. Its main operating facilities are located in the city of New Westminster. TransLink was created in 1998 as the Greater Vancouver Transportation Authority (GVTA) and was fully implemented in April 1999 by the Government of British Columbia to replace BC Transit in the Greater Vancouver Regional District and assume many transportation responsibilities previously held by the provincial government. Joyce–Collingwood Station
Joyce–Collingwood (formerly Joyce) is an elevated station on the Expo Line, a part of Metro Vancouver's SkyTrain rapid transit system. The station is located on Joyce Street at Vanness Avenue, in the Renfrew–Collingwood neighbourhood of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. History The station was designed by the Austrian architecture firm Architektengruppe U-Bahn and opened in 1985 as "Joyce station" on the original Expo Line. It replaced Joyce Loop, located south at the intersection of Joyce Street and Kingsway, as the main transfer point for local transit services in the area. Trolley wires were extended to the station in early 1986 to bring trolley buses to the station's bus loop. The station is located on the former right-of-way once used by the British Columbia Electric Railway's Central Park Line; this line ran from just west of Nanaimo station to where New Westminster station is located. Langley Centre
Langley Centre is an on-street bus exchange located in downtown Langley City, British Columbia, Canada. As part of the TransLink system, it serves the municipalities of Langley City and Langley Township with routes to Surrey, Maple Ridge, and White Rock, that provide connections to SkyTrain and the West Coast Express rail services for travel towards Vancouver. Structure and location The exchange opened on October 31, 1975, and is located on the curb lanes at the intersection of Glover Road and Logan Avenue in Langley City. It is not separated from regular traffic and can accommodate regular-length diesel buses and smaller community shuttles. Beside the exchange is the Rainbow Mall, a small shopping complex.
