Rantau Panjang Railway Station
The Rantau Panjang railway station was a Malaysian railway station located near Jalan Besar and named after the town of Rantau Panjang, Kelantan. Opened in 1921, it is located on the Rantau Panjang branch line, branching off from the main KTM East Coast Line at Pasir Mas. Rantau Panjang is one of the two rail border crossings on the border with Thailand (the other is Padang Besar railway station in Perlis), though currently there is no cross-border train crossing the Malaysia–Thailand border at Rantau Panjang. The Thai entrance to the Harmony rail bridge is currently sealed off by the Royal Thai Army. Services The station was previously served by both Keretapi Tanah Melayu and State Railway of Thailand trains. Later, Thai diesel multiple units (DMUs) took up the entire schedule, which rose unexpected numbers of passengers, resulting in protests by the railcar drivers against terminating the DMU services at Wakaf Bharu and Tumpat. KTM Intercity
KTM Intercity ( ms, KTM Antarabandar) are diesel-hauled intercity train services in Peninsular Malaysia, operated by Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB). Services operate along the East Coast Line between Tumpat and Gemas and on towards JB Sentral on the West Coast Line. The former Intercity services along the West Coast Line between Padang Besar in the north (and subsequent services to Thailand) and Gemas have been converted to the KTM ETS service. KTM Intercity has long enjoyed moderate success, but increasingly faces competition with road and air travel, as expressways (motorways) increase in number and budget airlines offer shorter travelling time. Pasir Mas District
Pasir Mas District is a district (jajahan) in Kelantan, Malaysia. The district covers an area of 614.15 square kilometers and is bordered by the districts of Tumpat District to the north, Tanah Merah District to the south, Kota Bharu District to the east, and the Thai district of Su-ngai Kolok ( ms, Sungai Golok) to the west. Rantau Panjang–Sungai Golok Bridge ( ms, Jambatan Rantau Panjang–Sungai Golok, th, สะพานโก–ลก), popularly called the "Harmony Bridge" ( ms, Jambatan Muhibah), is a road bridge crossing Kolok River ( ms, Sungai Golok) of the Malaysia–Thailand border, connecting Rantau Panjang town in Kelantan, Malaysia, with Su-ngai Kolok town in Narathiwat, Narathiwat Province, Thailand. Eastern And Oriental Express
The Eastern & Oriental Express is a luxury train that carries passengers between Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand. It runs between Singapore's Woodlands Train Checkpoint and Bangkok railway station, Bangkok, stopping at Kuala Lumpur railway station, Kuala Lumpur, Butterworth railway station, Butterworth, and Kanchanaburi railway station, Kanchanaburi, taking 4 days (3 nights). KTM West Coast Line
The West Coast railway line runs from Padang Besar railway station close to the Malaysia–Thailand border in Perlis (where it connects with the State Railway of Thailand) to Woodlands Train Checkpoint in Singapore. It is called the West Coast railway line because it serves the West Coast states of Peninsular Malaysia.
