Ranee Kathryn Brylinski (née Gupta, born January 28, 1957) is an American mathematician known for her research in representation theory and quantum logic gates. Formerly a professor of mathematics at Pennsylvania State University, she left academia in 2003 to found the mathematical consulting company Brylinski Research with her husband, Jean-Luc Brylinski. Education and career Brylinski was born in Detroit, Michigan. She graduated from Princeton University in 1977, and completed her Ph.D. at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 1981. Rani Vijaya Devi of Kotda-Sangani (28 August 1922 - 8 December 2005), born Maharajakumari Vijayalakshmi Ammanni, was the eldest daughter of Yuvaraja Kanteerava Narasimha Raja Wadiyar and sister of Maharaja Jaya Chamaraja Wadiyar. She grew up in Chamundi Vihar, the palace of her father. Rani Maria Vattalil (29 January 1954 – 25 February 1995) – in religious Rani Maria – was an Indian Syro Malabar religious sister and a social worker in the Franciscan Clarist Congregation who worked among the poor within the Diocese of Indore.
