Ranheim Idrettslag is a Norwegian alliance sports club from Ranheim, Trondheim. It has sections for association football, team handball and track and field. The football club plays in the 1. Extra Arena
Extra Arena (previous called Ranheim Stadion) is the home ground of the Norway, Norwegian association football, football club Ranheim Fotball. It is located in the city-area of Ranheim in the city of Trondheim. The stadion had to be enlarged to comply with Eliteserien guideline of a minimum of 3000 seats. History The construction of grass pitch at the stadium was completed in 1939 at a cost of Norwegian krone, NOK 8,000. The stadium had to be rebuilt after World War II. 5,000 spectators visited the reconstructed stadium at the first official post-war game against Vålerenga Fotball, Vålerengen in 1946. Extra Arena is a part of a larger sports facility complex named Ranheim Idrettspark. Trøndelag

Ernst Willy Larsen (18 July 1926 – 2 December 2015) was a Norwegian athlete, who competed mainly in the 3000 metre steeplechase. He represented Ranheim IL. Sogndal Fotball is the association football department of Norwegian sports club Sogndal IL from Sogndal in Vestland. The club was founded in 1926. Per Joar Hansen
Per Joar Hansen (born 17 August 1965) is a Norwegian football coach. He grew up in the small community of Trofors in Nordland. He played for and managed Rosenborg BK, and he has managed GIF Sundsvall, Aalesunds FK, Ranheim and the Norwegian under-21 football team. Club career Known by the nickname "Perry", he began his career in the lower flight clubs of Mosjøen IL and Steinkjer FK, before enjoying a brief spell at Rosenborg from 1987 to 1989.
