Raneem El-Gedawy
Raneem El-Gedawy ( ar, رنيم الجداوي; born February 24, 1997), known also as Raneem Mohamed (), is an Egyptian basketball player. She plays professionally for Al Ahly women's team and the Egypt women's national basketball team. College El-Gedawy was a student of Western Kentucky University. During her freshman season, she averaged nine points and 7.1 rebounds with 42 total blocks and 30 steals. She became the first player to capture "C-USA Freshman of the Year honors". She was named "C-USA Freshman of the Week" four times while becoming the first WKU player to be honored as the "USBWA National Freshman of the Week". As a sophomore El-Gedawy started all 35 games and finished the season with six double-double performances. As a junior, she averaged 17.6 points per game, a double-double with 11.0 rebounds per game. Raneem Mohamed Yasser Saad El Din El Welily ( ar, رنيم محمد ياسر سعد الدين الوليلي; born 1 January 1989, in Alexandria, Egypt) is a former professional squash player from Egypt. She has reached a career-high world ranking of No. 1 in September 2015. She is a three-time finalist at the World Open, in 2014, 2016, and 2019/2020. She became the World Champion in 2017, after defeating Nour El Sherbini in the finals. Career Junior career Alexandria-born El Welily has emerged as one of the most skillful players on the PSA Women's World Tour since she turned professional in 2002. Raneem followed her brother into squash at the age of six and first played for Egypt in the World Juniors 2001 in Penang, Malaysia, then aged ten.
