Randy Hood
Randall Scott Hood (born August 9, 1968) is an American baseball coach and former player who is the current head baseball coach of the UNC Wilmington Seahawks. He played college baseball at Campbell for coach Mike Caldwell from 1987 to 1990 and played in Minor League Baseball (MiLB) for 5 seasons from 1990 to 1994. Playing career Hood attended Southern Wayne High School in Dudley, North Carolina. Hood played for the school's varsity baseball team. Hood then enrolled at Campbell University, to play college baseball for the Campbell Fighting Camels baseball team. As a freshman at Campbell University in 1987, Hood had a .290 batting average, a .365 on-base percentage (OBP) and a .420 SLG. In the 1989 season as a junior, Hood hit 4 home runs and 10 doubles. He was named to the All-Big South Conference team. 2021 Colonial Athletic Association Baseball Tournament
The 2021 Colonial Athletic Association Baseball Tournament was held at Brooks Field in Wilmington, North Carolina from May 25 through May 30. The Northeastern Huskies won the tournament, their first CAA victory, and earned the Colonial Athletic Association's automatic bid to the 2021 NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament. Entering the event, two-time defending champion UNC Wilmington had won the most championships among active teams, with six. James Madison and William & Mary had claimed two titles, while College of Charleston, Delaware, and Towson each had one. Mark Scalf
Mark Scalf (born October 3, 1958) is an American college baseball coach and former player. He served as head coach of the UNC Wilmington Seahawks baseball program from 1992 to the conclusion of the 2019 season.; ; ; ; ; Background Scalf is a native of Cary, North Carolina and attended Cary High School. He is a four-time letter winner at second base for UNC Wilmington, from 1977 through 1980. The Seahawks began play in Division I in Scalf's freshman year. Coaching career After completing his playing career, Scalf earned a graduate assistant coach position at North Carolina in 1981. He became a full-time assistant the following season, helping the Tar Heels to two ACC tournament titles, an ACC regular season championship, and two NCAA tournament appearances in his three seasons in Chapel Hill.
