Ramsø
Ramsø was a municipality (Danish '' kommune'') in the former Roskilde County on the island of Zealand (''Sjælland'') in east Denmark until January 1, 2007. The municipality covered an area of and had a total population in 2005 of 9,320. Its last mayor was Poul Lindor Nielsen, a member of the Social Democrats (''Socialdemokraterne'') political party. The main town and the site of its municipal council was Viby. Other towns and villages in the municipality were Gadstrup, Skalstrup, Snoldelev and Ørsted. Gadstrup
Gadstrup is a railway town located on the Lille Syd railway between Roskilde and Køge, in Roskilde Municipality, some 20 km southwest of Copenhagen, Denmark. History The name Gadstrup is first documented in 1176 as ''Gadstorp'' (1257 ''Garsthorp''). In 1568, prebend of Gadstrup, one of the six prebends associated with the cathedral chapter in Roskilde, owned six farms in Gadstrup as well as three in Ramsølille and one in Viby. Our Lady's Abbey also owned property in the village at this point. In 1682, Gadstrup consisted of 6 farms and one house. In 1808, it consisted of seven farms but in 1838 only of four farms, probably because some of the farms had moved out of the village. Gadstrup station opened on the 4. Viby, Roskilde Municipality
Viby, often referred to as Viby Sjælland (usually styled Viby Sj) to distinguish it from Viby J in Jutland, is a satellite and commuter town to Roskilde and Copenhagen, located 8 km south of Roskilde, in Roskilde Municipality, some 30 km west of Copenhagen, Denmark. Snoldelev Stone
The Snoldelev Stone, listed as DR 248 in the Rundata catalog, is a 9th-century runestone that was originally located at Snoldelev, Ramsø, Denmark. Description The Snoldelev Stone, which is 1.25 meters in height, is decorated with painted scratches depicting a design of three drinking horns interlocking as incomplete Borromean rings (similar to the Diane de Poitiers three crescents emblem). The stone was first noted in 1810, and was turned over to the national Antiquities Commission in 1811. The runestone is now housed at the National Museum of Denmark in Copenhagen, Denmark. The inscription on the Snoldelev Stone shows an early version of the Younger Futhark. Like the late Elder Futhark Björketorp Runestone, it uses an a-rune which has the same form as the h-rune has in the long-branch version of the younger futhark. Roskilde municipality ( da, Roskilde kommune) is a municipality in Region Sjælland, 30 km west of Copenhagen on the island of Zealand (''Sjælland'') in east Denmark. Zealand (Denmark)
Zealand ( da, Sjælland ) at 7,031 km2 is the largest and most populous island in Denmark proper (thus excluding Greenland and Disko Island, which are larger in size).
