Ramazan Ramazanov (wrestler)
Ramazan Ramazanov (russian: Рамазан Эльдарович Рамазанов; born 15 February 1995) is a Russian-born Bulgarian wrestler of Avar origin. He won the silver medal in the 70 kg event at the 2023 European Wrestling Championships held in Zagreb, Croatia. Career In August 2018 he went to the Russian Championship as a member of the Dagestan national team. In November 2018 he won a bronze medal at the tournament in memory of Dinmukhamed Kunayev in Kazakhstan. Until 2019 he represented Russia, after which he began to play for Bulgaria. At the end of January 2020, he won the Bulgarian championship. In January 2023, he again became the champion of Bulgaria. At the 2022 European Wrestling Championships held in Budapest, Hungary, he won the bronze medal in the 70 kg freestyle match in the third place match against Azerbaijani Ziraddin Bayramov by beating his opponent with a button after leading 11–7. The 60th Dan Kolov & Nikola Petrov Tournament, is a wrestling event held in Sofia, Bulgaria between 2 and 5 March 2023. This international tournament included competition in both men's and women's freestyle wrestling and men's Greco-Roman wrestling. This tournament was held in honor of Dan Kolov who was the first European freestyle wrestling champion from Bulgaria and European and World Champion Nikola Petroff. 2022 World Wrestling Championships
The 2022 World Wrestling Championships was the 17th edition of the World Wrestling Championships of combined events and was held between 10 and 18 September 2022 in Belgrade, Serbia. The UWW Bureau approved the candidature of Belgrade, Serbia as the host of the 2023 Senior World Championships. However, due to the restrictions on Russia for hosting World Championships in 2021–2022, Belgrade replaced the former city of Krasnoyarsk as the World Championships host for 2022. For 2023 the World Championships host will be reallocated to Russia. In addition, Russian and Belarusian athletes have been banned from 2022 World Championships. Avars (Caucasus)
The Avars, also known as ''Maharuls'' ( Avar: , , "mountaineers") are a Northeast Caucasian ethnic group. The Avars are the largest of several ethnic groups living in the Russian republic of Dagestan. The Avars reside in the North Caucasus between the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea.
