Ralph Weber
Ralph Weber (born 31 May 1993) is a Swiss alpine ski racer. Weber specializes in the speed events of Downhill and Super-G also skiing in the Alpine Combined discipline. Weber was the Junior World Champion in Super-G in 2012, making his World Cup debut in the same year on 15 March, 2012 in Schladming, Austria at the age of just 18. Career Weber's first major appearance was at the 2011 Alpine Skiing Junior World Championships in Crans-Montana, Switzerland. He finished 9th in the downhill, and 17th in the Super-G. Having claimed his first podium at Europa Cup level, Weber competed in the 2012 Alpine Skiing Junior World Championships in Roccaraso, Italy. He claimed the silver medal in the Downhill, just 9 hundredths of a second behind the winner, and followed that with a gold in the Super-G the following day, ahead of teammate Nils Mani. Downhill (ski Competition)
Downhill is a form of alpine skiing competition. Whereas the other alpine skiing events (Slalom skiing, slalom, Giant slalom skiing, giant slalom, Super Giant Slalom skiing, super giant slalom, and alpine skiing combined, combined) emphasize turning and technique, downhill emphasizes "the six components of technique, courage, speed, risk, physical condition and judgement", according to the International Ski Federation, FIS "International Ski Competition Rules (ICR)".. Nils Mani (born 23 May 1992) is a Swiss former alpine ski racer. Mani specialized in the speed events of Downhill and Super-G. Mani made his World Cup debut on 15 December 2012 in Val Gardena, Italy finishing in 40th place. Career Mani competed for Switzerland at the 2011 Alpine Skiing Junior World Championships in Crans-Montana, Switzerland. He finished 33rd in the giant slalom, 20th in the slalom, 8th in the combined, 6th in the downhill, and 11th in the Super-G. The Lake Louise Ski Resort & Summer Gondola is a ski resort in western Canada, located in Banff National Park near the village of Lake Louise, Alberta. Located west of Banff, Lake Louise is one of three major ski resorts within Banff National Park. Hahnenkamm, Kitzbühel
The Hahnenkamm is a mountain in Europe, directly southwest of Kitzbühel in the Kitzbühel Alps of Austria. The elevation of its summit is above sea level. The Hahnenkamm (''German'': rooster's comb) is part of the ski resort of Kitzbühel, and hosts an annual World Cup alpine ski race, the ''Hahnenkammrennen''. The most famous slope on the Hahnenkamm is the classic downhill course, the '' Streif'' (streak, or stripe), which is regarded as the most demanding race course on the World Cup circuit. The course features highly technical, "fall-away" turns (reverse bank), many with limited visibility. It also contains several flat gliding sections, immediately preceded by difficult turns, placing a premium on both technical and gliding skills. Val Gardena
Val Gardena (; german: Gröden ; lld, Gherdëina ) is a valley in Northern Italy, in the Dolomites of South Tyrol. It is best known as a tourist skiing, rock climbing, and woodcarving area. Geography The valley's main river is the Derjon, a tributary of the Eisack river. The mountains that surround the valley are formed by dolomite rocks, which confer on them a characteristic appearance. Most of the steep slopes are covered by pine woods. The favoured cultivations are barley, rye, potatoes, flax, buckwheat. The three municipalities in Val Gardena are Urtijëi, Sëlva, and Santa Cristina; they were served by the Val Gardena Railway from 1916 until 1960. Saalbach-Hinterglemm
Saalbach-Hinterglemm is a municipality in the district of Zell am See (Pinzgau region), in the Austrian state of Salzburg. It is well known for its skiing and other winter sports. A four piste network consisting of Saalbach, Hinterglemm, Fieberbrunn and Leogang is located in the municipality, adding up to 270 kilometers of ski slopes. Jasná is a small village situated in central Slovakia, in the Low Tatras mountains. It is a part of the municipality Demänovská Dolina. Skiing venue The Jasná area resorts have a total of more than 30 lifts on all sides of the Chopok Mountain.
