Rajiv Jain
Rajiv Jain (born March 17, 1957) was the Director of the Intelligence Bureau of India. He belonged to 1980 batch of IPS. He is from the Jharkhand cadre and was appointed on January 1, 2017 as the 26th Director of Intelligence Bureau after the retirement of Dineshwar Sharma. Biography Rajiv Jain is the recipient of President’s Police Medal and has served in various departments of the Intelligence Bureau, including the sensitive Kashmir desk. He was the advisor to the previous NDA government’s interlocutor on Kashmir, KC Pant, when talks were held with separatist leaders like Shabbir Shah. The Intelligence Bureau (IB) (Hindi: आसूचना ब्यूरो; IAST: āsūcanā byūro) is India's domestic internal security and counter-intelligence agency under Ministry of Home Affairs. It was founded in 1887 as ''Central Special Branch'', and is reputed to be the oldest such organization in the world. Until 1968, it handled both domestic and foreign intelligence after which Research and Analysis Wing was formed specifically for foreign intelligence following that IB was primarily assigned the role of domestic intelligence and internal security. Shabir Ahmad Shah popularly known as Shabir Shah (born 14 June 1953), in Kadipora, Anantnag, Kashmir is the founder and president of the Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP), one of the main separatist political organizations seeking "right of self-determination" to Jammu and Kashmir. Dineshwar Sharma
Dineshwar Sharma (23 March 1954 – 4 December 2020) was an Indian police officer. He was the chief of the Indian Intelligence Bureau (succeeded by Rajiv Jain), that is the Director of Intelligence Bureau which is the highest-ranked post in the Indian Police Service (IPS). He also served as an interlocutor to the government of India for the state of Jammu and Kashmir. He served as the 34th Administrator of Lakshadweep from 2019 until his death. President's Police Medal
The President's Police Medal is a decoration awarded to members of law enforcement in India. Established on 1 March 1951, the medal was originally called the President's Police and Fire Service Medal. The medal is awarded for either gallantry or distinguished service, with the gallantry version of the medal being accorded a higher precedence. The medal is awarded annually on Republic Day and Independence Day.
