Gariahat Road becomes Raja SC Mullick road from the intersection of Prince Anwar Shah Road Connector and traverses mainly through Jadavpur and then the inner parts of South Kolkata and ends at Garia, where it meets the Netaji Subash Chandra Bose Road. Localities Formerly known as Lady Willingdon Road and starting from the Jadavpur P.S. at its north end, it traverses about four kilometers to Garia through many important landmarks like the Central Glass and Ceramic Research Institute, Jadavpur University, Indian Association of Cultivation of Science, Indian Institute of Chemical Biology and KPC Medical College & Hospital. Subodh Chandra Mallik
Subodh Chandra Basu Mallik (9 February 1879 – 14 November 1920), commonly known as ''Raja'' Subodh Mallik, was a Bengali Indian industrialist, philanthropist and nationalist. Mallik is noted as a nationalist intellectual who was one of the co-founders of the Bengal National College, of which he was the principal financial supporter. He was close to Aurobindo Ghosh and financed the latter's nationalist publications including ''Bande Mataram''. Mallik was born in Pataldanga suburb of Calcutta to Prabodh Chandra Basu Mallik. He graduated from St. Xaviers College Calcutta and Presidency College Calcutta before enrolling in fine arts at Trinity College, Cambridge in 1900. He returned from England before completing his university studies, and immediately delved into the nationalist movement. Prince Anwar Shah Road
Prince Anwar Shah Road is a busy road of South Kolkata. It is named after Prince Gulam Mohammed Anwar Ali Shah, one of Tipu Sultan's 12 sons. Localities In the aftermath of the death of Tipu Sultan, during the battle of Mysore, the then British rulers threw all twelve sons of Tipu into prison at Vellore. Suspecting that they had powered an abortive rebellion in Vellore jail they were moved to another prison in Calcutta in 1807. The road starts from the Raja SC Mullick Road where the Jadavpur Police Station is located and is connected to Tollygunge on the west. It first runs to the left of South Kolkata neighbourhood Jodhpur Park before running through Lake Gardens and finally reaching Tollygunge. Jadavpur is a southern neighbourhood of Kolkata in the district of Kolkata of West Bengal, India. Jadavpur is one of the important junctions in South Kolkata. Garia (Bengali:গড়িয়া) is a neighborhood in southern Kolkata, West Bengal, India. It is bordered by the neighborhoods of Jadavpur in the north, Bansdroni/Tollygunge in the north-west, Santoshpur/ Mukundapur in the north-east and Narendrapur/Rajpur Sonarpur in the south. Netaji Subash Chandra Bose Road
Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Road is an important road in South Kolkata that runs in a north-west to south-east direction. It connects the localities of Tollygunge in the north-west and Rajpur Sonarpur in the south through Garia.
