Rainer Trost
Rainer Trost (born 1966) is a German tenor whose performance repertoire encompasses operas, operettas, Lieder and oratorios. He is known for roles in Mozart operas. He is also a voice teacher at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. Life Trost spent his childhood and youth in Stuttgart where he was born. In his hometown, he was a member of the Stuttgarter Hymnus-Chorknaben for many years. He first studied law, but turned to singing, studying in Freiburg im Breisgau, Stuttgart and from 1987 to 1991 at tclarifyhe Hochschule für Musik in Munich, among others with Adalbert Kraus. Subsequently, the singer was an ensemble member of the Staatsoper Hannover until 1995. In 1992, Trost launched his international career as Ferrando in Mozart's ''Così fan tutte'' with conductor John Eliot Gardiner in Paris This performance was recorded live and released on the Deutsche Grammophon label. Deutsche Grammophon (; DGG) is a German classical music record label that was the precursor of the corporation PolyGram. Headquartered in Berlin Friedrichshain, it is now part of Universal Music Group (UMG) since its merger with the UMG family of labels in 1999. It is the oldest surviving established record company. Wiener Blut (operetta)
''Wiener Blut'' ('' Viennese Blood'' or ''Viennese Spirit'') is an operetta named after the " Wiener Blut" waltz, supposedly with music by the composer Johann Strauss the Younger, who did not live to witness the première. Such was the popularity of the original "Wiener Blut" Op. 354 waltz until the time of the composer's death that his work would be chosen as the name of the operetta with libretto by Victor Léon and Leo Stein set around the Vienna Congress of 1814 to 1815. Strauss did not specifically compose any music for this operetta, although many of his earlier compositions were incorporated for the work. He took no active part in the musical arrangement at its conception nor any production work leading up to its première. Royal Opera House
The Royal Opera House (ROH) is an opera house and major performing arts venue in Covent Garden, central London. The large building is often referred to as simply Covent Garden, after a previous use of the site. It is the home of The Royal Opera, The Royal Ballet, and the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House. The first theatre on the site, the Theatre Royal (1732), served primarily as a playhouse for the first hundred years of its history. In 1734, the first ballet was presented. The Salzburg Festival (german: Salzburger Festspiele) is a prominent festival of music and drama established in 1920. ' (Italian for ''Idomeneus, King of Crete, or, Ilia and Idamante''; usually referred to simply as ''Idomeneo'', K. 366) is an Italian language opera seria by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The libretto was adapted by Giambattista Varesco from a French text by Antoine Danchet, based on a 1705 play by Crébillion père, which had been set to music by André Campra as ''Idoménée'' in 1712.
