Raimond Valgre
Raimond Valgre (born Raimond Tiisel; 7 October 1913 – 31 December 1949) was an Estonian composer and musician, whose songs have become some of the most well known in Estonia. During World War II, Valgre was conscripted into the Red Army and was a member of the orchestra for the 8th Estonian Rifle Corps. It is believed that as a result of his service on the Eastern Front Valgre suffered from alcoholism. His music was banned in 1948 by the Soviet authorities. Raimond Valgre died in an accident on 31 December 1949. The revival of Valgre's compositions began in the Soviet Union of the 1960s. This included Armenian jazz vocalist Tatevik Oganesyan's rendition of "A Little Story in the Music" in her album ''Day Dream''. The biographical feature film '' Those Old Love Letters'' (''Need vanad armastuskirjad'') followed in 1992. Riisipere
Riisipere (german: Riesenberg) is a small borough (') in the Saue Parish, Harju County, Estonia. Prior to the administrative reform of Estonian local governments in March 2017, Riisipere was the administrative center of Nissi Parish. Located on the Ääsmäe-Haapsalu road, its distance from Tallinn is 45 km, from Haapsalu 50 km, Märjamaa 30 km, Rapla 40 km. The town Riisipere railway station, the terminus of the Elron Tallinn-Keila-Riisipere line, has been electrified since 1981. Originally the line continued to Haapsalu. The Riisipere–Haapsalu section was abandoned in 2004, but is due to be rebuilt as far as Turba during 2019, as a first step towards eventually re-opening the line to Haapsalu (and possibly the port at Rohuküla ). Marko Matvere
Marko Matvere (born 4 February 1968) is an Estonian actor and singer. He was the lead actor of the Tallinn City Theatre, but left to become a freelance actor in 2004. Biography Matvere was born in Pärnu and graduated from the Tallinn Conservatory (now the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre) in 1990. He is married to Tiina Matvere and they have a daughter, Matilde, and a son, Oskar. Annely Peebo (born 16 November 1971) is an Estonian operatic mezzo-soprano. She was a co-host of the Eurovision Song Contest 2002 in Tallinn. Life and career Annely Peebo gained a diploma for choral conducting and completed vocal studies in opera. She studied at the University of Music and Dramatic Arts Vienna in Vienna, Austria, where she studied singing with Professor Gerhard Kahry and opera with Professor Curt Malm. In 1997, she became a permanent ensemble member of the Vienna Volksoper after her debut at the Vienna State Opera in ''Rigoletto'' the same year. Peebo is a regular at various festivals.
