Annely Peebo
Annely Peebo (born 16 November 1971) is an Estonian operatic mezzo-soprano. She was a co-host of the Eurovision Song Contest 2002 in Tallinn. Life and career Annely Peebo gained a diploma for choral conducting and completed vocal studies in opera. She studied at the University of Music and Dramatic Arts Vienna in Vienna, Austria, where she studied singing with Professor Gerhard Kahry and opera with Professor Curt Malm. In 1997, she became a permanent ensemble member of the Vienna Volksoper after her debut at the Vienna State Opera in ''Rigoletto'' the same year. Peebo is a regular at various festivals. At the Vienna Festival in 2001, she sang the role of Meroe in the first performance of the expressionistic opera, ''Penthesilea'' by Othmar Schoeck (after Heinrich von Kleist). Viljandi
Viljandi (, german: Fellin, sv, Fellin) is a town and municipality in southern Estonia with a population of 17,407 in 2019. It is the capital of Viljandi County and is geographically located between two major Estonian cities, Pärnu and Tartu. The town was first mentioned in 1283, upon being granted its town charter by Wilhelm von Endorpe. The town became a member of the Hanseatic League at the beginning of the 14th century, and is one of five Estonian towns and cities in the league. Othmar Schoeck
Othmar Schoeck (1 September 1886 – 8 March 1957) was a Swiss Romantic classical composer, opera composer, musician, and conductor. He was known mainly for his considerable output of art songs and song cycles, though he also wrote a number of operas, notably his one-act '' Penthesilea'', which was premiered at the Semperoper in Dresden in 1927 and revived at the Lucerne Festival in 1999. He wrote a handful of instrumental compositions, including two string quartets and concertos for violin (for Stefi Geyer, dedicatee also of Béla Bartók's first concerto), cello and horn. Renārs Kaupers (sometimes anglicised as Reynard Cowper; born 1 September 1974, in Jelgava) is a Latvian pop/rock singer, instrumentalist, and songwriter who is the vocalist of the band Prāta Vētra (known internationally as Brainstorm). Biography Kaupers graduated from University of Latvia in 1996 with a degree in journalism. He can speak at least three languages with fluency: English, Latvian, and Russian. Natasja Crone Back (born 12 June 1970) is a Danish journalist and TV show presenter. She is well known from several big shows on Danish television. Marko Matvere (born 4 February 1968) is an Estonian actor and singer. He was the lead actor of the Tallinn City Theatre, but left to become a freelance actor in 2004.
