Railways Sports Promotion Board
Railways Sports Promotion Board (RSPB) (originally known as Railways Sports Control Board) is a sports board run by the Indian Railways. It was formed as the Indian Railways Athletic Association in 1928. It promotes 30 sporting disciplines and owns the Karnail Singh Stadium in New Delhi. The board is represented as Railways in the National Games of India. A multi-sport event is an organized sporting event, often held over multiple days, featuring competition in many different sports among organized teams of athletes from (mostly) nation-states. The Judo Federation of India (JFI) is the national sports federation for judo in India. The JFI was established in 1965, and received affiliation from the International Judo Federation during the same year. The JFI organized the first National Judo Championship at Hyderabad in 1966. Karnail Singh Stadium
Karnail Singh Stadium is a multipurpose sports venue located in Delhi, India and is owned by the Indian Railways. Located next to the New Delhi Railway Station, the ground is used for athletics, football, hockey, cricket, boxing, and badminton. Apart from sports, the ground has been a venue for the Terry Fox Run, a charity event which was held in 2008. History Originally known as ''Paharganj Railways Stadium'', the ground was built in 1954 due to the efforts of ''Karnail Singh'', then Chairman of the Railway board.
