Rahija Khanam Jhunu
Rahija Khanam Jhunu (21 June 1943 – 26 November 2017) was a Bangladeshi dancer. She was awarded the Ekushey Padak in 1990 by the government of Bangladesh. Education and career Jhunu got admitted at the Bulbul Academy of Fine Arts (BAFA) in 1956. She performed in dance-drama ''"Chirokaler Bondhutto"'' at a program in honor of the then Chinese Premier Zhou Enlai who was visiting. She joined BAFA as an instructor in 1960 and became its principal in 1998. Jhunu's notable students include Lubna Marium, Zinat Barkatullah, Shamim Ara Nipa, Sohel Rahman, Shaju Ahmed and Sadia Islam Mou. Manikganj
Manikganj is a district situated in Dhaka Division, Bangladesh. Manikganj is one of the green and pollution free towns in Bangladesh. The recent urbanization and highway built joining Dhaka and Shingair Upazilla has given it an outstanding roadview and better communication. The river Padma flows beside this district and given life to the flora and fauna. It connects the north-western and south-western region of Bangladesh by Paturia ghat. Nakshi Kanthar Math
''Nakshi Kanthar Math'' ( bn, নকশী কাঁথার মাঠ, lit=The Field of the Embroidered Quilt) is a dramatized Bengali verse narrative written by poet Jasimuddin published in 1928. The verse is considered a masterpiece in Bengali language and has been translated into many different languages. The poem was translated later by Mary Milford as "The Field of the Embroidered Quilt". Plot The verse is a tragic folk tale written in simple language and centers around Rupai and Saju. Rupai is a young peasant Rupa, who falls in love with a girl named Saju in his neighboring village. They are married. But after a quarrel and fight with some peasants of another village Rupai leaves home and flees far away. Saju, the young wife becomes alone. She waits every day with expectant that her husband will return to her, but nothing happens. She becomes tired, all her hope becomes falls. Bengal Presidency
The Bengal Presidency, officially the Presidency of Fort William and later Bengal Province, was a subdivision of the British Empire in India. At the height of its territorial jurisdiction, it covered large parts of what is now South Asia and Southeast Asia. Bengal proper covered the ethno-linguistic region of Bengal (present-day Bangladesh and the Indian state of West Bengal). Shamim Ara Nipa
Shamim Ara Nipa is a Bangladeshi dancer and choreographer. She serves as a director of ''Nrityanchal Dance Company''. She was awarded Ekushey Padak by the Government of Bangladesh in the category of choreography in 2017. Career Nipa got her first lesson in dancing at Arts Council of Kishoreganj District. She studied under the dance instructors G A Mannan and Nikunja Bihari Pal. Later she received training at Bulbul Academy of Fine Arts. She received training from a North Korean dance trainer and the National Centre for the Performing Arts (China).
