Rahi Chakraborty
Rahi Chakraborty ( hi, राही चक्रवर्ती) is an Indian singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and music producer. He shot to fame as the 1st runner up in MTV India's music show Mtv Rock On An alumnus of the Film and Television Institute of India of Pune his songs deal with teen angst, spirituality and political issues and he is best known for his compositions and vocal presence. In 2013, he studied and performed at A.R.Rahman's KM Music Conservatory, Chennai. Genre of compositions range from World Music, Electronica to Rock Music. He is currently a music programmer and arranger under ace Bollywood music composer Ram Sampath who also was his judge in the MTV show. Chakraborty joined Ram Sampath's production house in 2015. Baul
The Baul ( bn, বাউল) are a group of mystic minstrels of mixed elements of Sufism, Vaishnavism and Tantra from Bangladesh and the neighboring Indian states of West Bengal, Tripura and Assam's Barak Valley and Meghalaya. Bauls constitute both a syncretic religious sect of troubadours and a musical tradition. Bauls are a very heterogeneous group, with many sects, but their membership mainly consists of Vaishnava Hindus and Sufi Muslims. They can often be identified by their distinctive clothes and musical instruments. Lalon Shah is regarded as the most celebrated Baul saint in history. ''MTV Roadies'' is a youth-based reality show. It was launched in 2003 and airs on MTV India. The show is also digitally available on Voot. In this show, a group of contestants travel to different destinations and participate in various tasks that challenge their physical, social and mental strength. Overview History The show was created by Raghu Ram, Rajiv Lakshman and RJ Amit. They left the show in 2014. They told the media that they had done enough to popularise the show and wanted to give opportunities to the new generation to carry the show forward. With a 17-year history, it is one of India's longest running reality shows. During the course of the journey there are vote outs, vote ins, eliminations and game changing twists. Jugni is an age-old narrative device used in Punjabi folk music. It is the traditional music of the Punjab region of the Indian subcontinent. Jugni is sung at Punjabi weddings in India, Pakistan, US, Canada, Australia and UK.
