Rahel Daniel
Rahel Daniel Chebre (born 16 November 2001) is an Eritrean long-distance runner. She finished fifth in the 10,000 metres at the 2022 World Athletics Championships. Daniel is a two-time World Cross Country Tour winner. Career 17-year-old Rahel Daniel finished tenth in the final of the 1500 metres race at the 2019 African Games. In February 2020, Daniel finished second in the World Athletics Cross Country Permit series in Albufeira, Portugal behind Lydia Lagat and ahead of Salomé Rocha. She qualified for the 5000 metres at the delayed 2020 Tokyo Olympics in June 2021, breaking a national record in running 14:55:56 at a qualifying tournament held in Hengelo, Netherlands. At the Games, Daniel was eliminated in the heats with a time of 15:02.59. In January 2022, Daniel placed second at the Campaccio in Italy, and the following month, won the 45th edition of the Almond Blossom Cross Country in Portugal. The Lotto Cross Cup de Hannut is an annual cross country running competition that takes place in Hannut in the Belgium, Belgian province of Liège (province), Liège. It holds permit meeting status from the European Athletic Association and attracts top athletes from Europe and Africa. Typically held in January or February, the competition was created as a men's only event in 1941 and in its first decade a number of Belgian champions competed, including Gaston Reiff and Marcel Vandewattyne. Juan Muguerza Cross-Country
The Juan Muguerza Cross-Country, also known as the ''Elgoibar Cross-Country'', is an annual cross country running competition which takes place each January in Elgoibar, the Basque Country, Spain. It is named as a memorial of local runner Juan Muguerza, a multiple national champion who was killed in 1937 during the bombing of Mungia in the Spanish Civil War. The competition was first held in 1943 and was a men-only contest, principally between national-level runners. This changed at the 20th anniversary of the race in 1963, when the competition became an international one. 3000 Metres
The 3000 metres or 3000-metre run is a track running event, also commonly known as the "3K" or "3K run", where 7.5 laps are run around an outdoor 400 m track, or 15 laps around a 200 m indoor track. It is debated whether the 3000m should be classified as a middle-distance or long-distance event. In elite-level competition, 3000 m pace is more comparable to the pace found in the longer 5000 metres event, rather than mile pace. The world record performance for 3000 m equates to a pace of 58.76 seconds per 400 m, which is closer to the 60.43 seconds for 5000 m than the 55.46 seconds for the mile.
